This a virtually rust free Arizona car with only surface rust anywhere. All body panels are remarkably straight with the exception of a poor flair job on the rear quarters to clear the meats on the back. The front panels need to be realigned. There is no damage to the panels or mounting points, just poor fit. Floor pans and trunk pan is all solid. Poor patch work on the drivers door low corner, not from rust but minor impact (see pic). The whole car is flat black. The car was white with black interior. The interior has GTO high-back seats. The rest of the interior is stock original and in fair shape. Key locks the steering as original but ignition and cooling fan switches are moved to a switch panel attached to the dash. I took a few pictures with the car wet to show the straight panels that are hard to see on flat black.396 bored to 408 (.30 over), medium cam with a nice lope. Don't know when or who built the engine but it has good compression and runs on 92 octane gas. Strong, clean running with 750 CFM Holley - mechanical secondary's, HEI ignition, big tube - long, wrapped headers flow into 3" pipe, with short mufflers. The pipes dump right in front of the tires. Heavy duty radiator with electric fan. Sounds nasty and pulls hard.TH350 trans with shift kit, posi rear, line lock, Hurst competition shifter, coil over rear suspension with ladder bars. Stock but lowered front. Standard steering, power disk brakes. Battery in trunk with external cut off. Tack and cowl mounted gauges for oil and water, column mounted tach and adjustable rev warning light. I have new door seal rubber, trunk seal, set of window weather strips. All new not installed. Rear tires have plenty on meat left. The front are new. Spare in the trunk. The car has great potential for a restoration. Right now it is street legal and its a very solid car to start with. I bought it to be a serious restomod project but I already have two other projects that are taking much of my time and space (and money) so I'll pass this one on.I was told this was a 12 second car. If racing is your thing, this could be fun. |
