CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
For Sale: 1969 RS/SS Camaro Convertible. 300 HP 350 V-8 smallblock car with 350 A/T transmission. Clear Texas title in my name. I am the third owner. Our Camaro is a numbers-matching motor; that is to say that the motor and transmission that came in the car when it was built are still in the car. The car has been re-painted the original emerald blue with original stripe package, cowl induction hood, spoiler and RS SS package. The vitals have all been professionally rebuilt, maintained or replaced over the years as necessary with stock GM components from Firewheel Classics in Garland, Texas. The motor is bored .030 and was completely rebuilt 2218 miles ago. The car, in large part, remains as it was off the assembly line in 1969 including the original stock exhaust which was replaced to stock specs with stock OEM components in 2009. The car was built at the Ohio plant, delivered and sold in St. Louis, but spent the bulk of it's life here in Texas. The car has never seen rain, snow or salt. It is rust and filler free. It is as clean on the beautiful original emerald blue exterior color as it is underneath. No expense has been spared to keep this car as beautiful as it is. This is a well-kept, adored survivor. It is as beautiful outside as it is inside. The car runs, drives and stops flawlessly. It is as fun as it is to drive as it is to show. This is not a "100 point" car. This is a driver. The car consistently wins people's choice awards. Everything works flawlessly except the original radio. It is still installed as you see, but stopped working long ago. I have a stock "original plate appearance configuration" digital radio to replace it with still in the box. It will take input from your phone or digital device. There are six items on the car that are not original to the car. Those are (1) The houndstooth checkered-white inserts are not original; this car, by VIN, came with black vinyl inserts. (2) The rear shocks are now air shocks with no drilling or altering of the original car. I have the original GM shocks for the car. (3) The carburetor is a 671 street dominator. This car came with a quadrojet which I do not have. (4) The intake is a Holly aluminum. The car came with a cast-iron intake which I do not have. (5) The posi rear end stock was a 3:55 gear set, which I have, in a box wrapped in grease with the shims. The rear end is set up with a GM 3:08 posi ring and pinion (clutch / original), for driveability. (6) This car came with Firestone Red Line radial tires. It has BF Goodrich T/A's on it as shown and on the spare. You are welcome to contact me with any questions. The number one question I should be asked is why am I selling my dream car? I am a 54 year-old retired U.S. Army Veteran. My wife and I are in the process of moving to a much larger place for our cattle and we are seeking to put together supplemental cash to make our VA funded loan more attractive to sellers. I am not interested in trades or negotiating after the fact. This is an auction, but the car is for sale locally and on FB Marketplace. If you'd like to talk to me about the car please contact me long before the auction is set to close. If you want to hear the motor run; (I would), please contact me through E-bay and we can accomplish any video or picture you want one on one. The number on the motor is already posted as an image to the listing. You should have no doubt about the originality and authenticity of the car. The car was appraised by Haggerty Insurance in order to fund the loan for the car when we bought it. This car has been inspected and authenticated by multiple experts and remains the most beautiful original small block RS/SS 350 300 HP Camaro convertible I've ever seen. If you don't agree with me on that point, please don't waste your time contacting me. I'm not interested in your brokership, your dealership or your auction venue. I am selling my car myself with two sets of keys and the Clear Texas Blue Title to the car which is in my name. You can come see the car in person here in Central Texas and make an offer in person, but I'm not taking your check, or your money order, or your cashier's check. I am an old. I deal in cash and that's all I will accept for this magnificent car. I will assist your shipper in any way I can, but I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS CAR TO BE SHIPPED ON AN OPEN TRAILER. I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS CAR TO BE SHIPPED UNINSURED. This car MUST be shipped FULLY INSURED in a closed, protected trailer by a qualified, experienced shipping company. It is my opinion that this car is a piece of our American Automotive History and should be preserved and cared for in that respect.NOTE: If your final bid wins, Pay Pal payment of $500.00 deposit required within 24 hrs auction close with the balance due at pick up in cash. Please do not bid on the car if you can't afford it. I can't afford to keep her, so I know what that means.
