Factory Highland Green with black interior from the factory, this car is one the best 1968 Mustangs you can buy. The Shelby heritage is amazing and being part of that group is honestly a great feeling, and comes with many fun enjoyable perks. These Shelby’s are very special. The history, the following, the comradery, they are really a blast to own, enjoy, drive, and to learn the history. This is going to make someone a very nice and valuable car. She’s been off the road since 1988-1989 but it’s held up very nicely, and is begging to be put back on the road. Someone could get it running and freshen up a few things and drive it as it is, or completely restore the car. This Shelby was built on January 8th, 1968, on schedule. The car was produced as follows: It was sold new at Jim Aikey Ford in Des Plaines, Illinois. Engine: · Block Original C7ME-A “C” Scratch CJ/PI Block Dated 8A2 VIN on back · Heads C8AE-H 428 PI Heads Dated 7L, November 67 · Intake C7AE-9425-F 428 PI Intake · Crank 428 1U · Rods C7AE-B · Balancer 428 · Original Shelby Cobra Le Mans Valve Covers · Cobra Air Cleaner · Original carb, distributor and radiator gone. Transmission: · Original C6 with VIN stamp. H Servo Tag PGB-W Rearend: · Original Nodular non N Center Section Dated 7L · Original 31 Spline Axles · Original 9” Ford Housing · Original pinion Snubber Interior: Appears to be all original interior. 8k tach gauges with redline. Original Shelby Rollbar with shoulder harness and retractors that work. Folddown Rear Seat. Original Shelby Console with original stewart warner gauges. Dash pad in great shape. Top console lid was redone. Seats in great shape overall but show some wear. Trap door hasn’t been cut for speakers. Original Carpet. Original Tilt away steering column. VINS: · Original Shelby tag on Apron · Original Buck tag on Passenger Apron · Original Door tag · Original Dash tag Brakes, Wheels and Tires: · Original front disc brakes. Original rear drum brakes. Power steering assembly with cooler still in place. Brake booster is off but included. · Shelby 10 spoke wheels with antique Goodyear F70-15 Tires Body: All original Shelby fiberglass! Hood, Nose, scoops, trunk lid, taillight panel etc. All the doors and hood and trunk lid open and shut nicely. Can’t tell if the paint is original or not. The car does have some rust. Typical mustang rust in floors and torque boxes, ends or rear rails, little in trunk floor, fender apron in spots. I suggest this all be replaced. Pictures show thoroughly the entire car so inspection should be done in person or by photos and video. Glass: All of the Glass is nice and intact.
