The Chevrolet Corvette is an American icon, much like the Ford Mustang or pickup truck. It is so deeply ingrained in our culture that they are nearly impossible to love. The second generation of Corvette, dubbed the C2, is what many of us picture as the quintessential classic Corvette, but the variations between model years were far more significant than most would believe. For 1967, the final year of the C2 Corvette, Chevrolet made a final series of changes that would make it the best of the best. It had the advantage of five years of refinement, and while its differences between 1966 and 1967 were rather subtle, it is easy to pick out the differences between an early C2 and a ’67. In addition to the mass of evolutionary changes over its lifecycle, the 1967 Corvette benefitted from five smaller front fender vents, a flat-finish rocker, a single refined rear backup light, slotted Rally wheels, revised upholstery, and a relocated handbrake.
