| This is a `1966 Buick Riviera Grand Sport with a 425 ‘Nailhead’engine, bucket seats and a floor shifter for the three-speed TurboHydramatic. There are only a few hundred miles on a rebuilt engine. The engine ID begins with 'MW', not 'MZ' which indicates that this was not originally a two-four barrel engine from the Buick factory. When the engine was rebuilt an aftermarket manifold was substituted along with two Englebrock four-barrels carburetors. The engine feels as if it has a high-lift cam, though I cannot document this. Judging by the speedometer error,I believe the original 3.42 rear end has been replaced with a rare 3.91.Performance is very strong.It has a completely rebuild front end, though you may want to replace the front shocks. It has air-adjustable rear shocks with the filler on the floor of the trunk.The body is almost rust free. Unfortunately, the paint job is inferior; the car is painted black over the original Riviera Plum. The paint is blistering in places -- 10 pictures available. The under carriage is almost rust free – 9 pictures available. I see no evidence of body damage or bondo.Glass is all good, with no cracks and very little pitting.Chrome is straight and rust-free though there is some weathering (6 pictures available). Wheels are very good but not perfect (4 pictures available).The interior is very good, with seats in nice condition and carpets in good condition (23 pictures available). The headliner is in fair condition (4 pictures available).All the power windows work, from the driver’s master switch as well as the individual passenger switches. The power seat motor works, but the seat moves only fore and aft, not up and down. As is typical of GM cars of this era, the gears in the power seat transmission needs to be cleaned.The window weather sealing has been removed. I have purchased a complete seal kit which will be included with the sale. The kit includes not only windows sears, but also door and trunk seals. The heater and air conditioning are nonfunctional, though the blower works. Replacement heater controls are part of the deal, as is a replacement air conditioning compressor (10 extra parts photographs available).The headlight motor works, but only by routing power directly from the battery. This means that the headlight switch needs to bereplaced.The tire are Sigma Shadow R295/75R15, and have very little wear.The turn signal switch in the steering wheel needs to be replaced.The heat gauge and clock are non-functional. All other gauges work. An aftermarket tachometer was installed by the engine rebuilder so the driver could limit RPM during the break-in period.The power antennae works, but as it is bent it will not fully lower. The radio is not original. A replacement radio is provided, one photograph available.The trunk is in good condition.This Buick has a current, clean Idaho title, an owner’s manual and a shop manual.The many extra photographs are available on a Google drive, as is a walk-around video and a video with the car starting and being driven.
