1968 Plymouth GTX (RS23L8A275xxx) HP 440, 4-speed, Track Pak car and all numbers matching with 70k original miles!!!! The GTX came from the factory with QQ1 Electric Blue metallic paint, white and blue interior, white side stripe, console Hurst 4-speed, Track pak Dana 60 rear-end sure grip with 3.54 gears, bucket seats, wheel lip moldings, lower body side moldings, power steering and a.m. radio!!! The GTX also has the 26” heavy duty factory radiator, dual exhaust with factory chrome tips, 15” Cragar wheels, correct round unsilenced black wrinkle finish air cleaner, and the correct 440 HP exhaust manifolds. All of the body vehicle order numbers match on the radiator support, trunk lip and the original Data Tag. The GTX has been fully restored from front to back (most recent items will be listed below). The drive-train, front/rear suspension, complete engine bay, trunk, interior, undercarriage and paint have been restored to a very high quality beautiful restoration. I just finished about a 650 hour restoration on this awesome 70k original mile real GTX!!! The GTX will be an excellent car to be driven on nice days to shows and cruises. A restoration of this caliber takes a lot of time, patience and money to be done correct. Please understand this is not your average “driver” condition GTX!!! I typically restore and finish around 8 Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 30 years. I do every one as if it were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale. This is one of the few cars you can view in person and say that it is actually nicer than the photos. Please call Chad at 412- 496- 1439 with any questions. Thanks! PAINT, BODY AND FRAME The body is very straight and clean, nice seams and in excellent shape. The trunk floor, trunk extensions, wheel well housings, doors, floor boards, quarters and fenders are all in great original condition. The rear quarters appear to have had only a small amount of work on the wheel lip areas (just a couple inches up) and the very lower rear section behind the tires replaced. The frame and floorboards are in excellent original shape. The undercarriage is very clean and neat with no rust and has body color painted floor pans!!! The QQ1 Blue base/clear paint was mostly done around 15 years ago and still looks great! The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500,2000,2500 and 3000 grit paper to achieve a high caliber ultra finish. This long process alone took over 60 hours and the finish shows it! The door jams are nice and clean but they are not as nice as the exterior paint. The are only a few very minor flaws in the paint: two very small brush touch-up chips on the front RH fender, a 2” small metallic flaw near the lower front window corner and maybe 2 or 3 other touch-up chips smaller than a pencil eraser. I will list photos of these in the extra photo link listed below. I know how important paint is so please take the time to call me and I will gladly go over the exact details of the paint, although it is extremely nice, there are some very minor flaws. GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM The factory original date coded glass is actually in really nice original condition! The side glass is in very good original shape and only has a few small minor scratches. The original front windshield does have one small chip in line with the rear view mirror so not really visible when driving. The front and rear bumpers are brand new and in excellent condition. The outside door handles, driver side manual side mirror and antenna are also all new. The trim pieces are super clean and were polished for optimum shine. The front grill, taillights and trunk trim piece have been restored and look great! The rocker moldings are nice original’s but do have a few marks in them. INTERIOR The white and blue factory interior has been mostly restored and looks excellent! Some new items are the arm rest pads and bases, door handles, carpet, trunk divider, sill/scuff plates, newer seat covers, headliner and insulation, glove box liner, complete 4-speed console, top bezels and side chrome. The excellent dash pad and cluster appear to all be original condition as well as under the dash is very clean and neat. All factory gauges work and operate correctly. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, reverse lights, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers, dash reverse light and license plate light. The fan motor, heat/defrost, horn, factory AM radio and new E-brake all work. DRIVE TRAIN The strong running 440 HP engine is the original numbers matching motor. It has the correct 440 HP manifolds (LH 2843992 and RH 2806900), Edelbrock aluminum intake, new Edelbrock electric choke 800cfm carb and electronic distributor kit with ECU box. The engine was rebuilt several years ago by the previous owners and was bored .030 over with TRW forged pistons and a street friendly cam. The 440 makes excellent power and runs great. The casting date on the 440 is 1-11-68. The ID badge is D 440 1 29 HP making it a 1968 HP 440. The engine casting number is 2536430. The last 8 of the vin (sequential serial number) is stamped on the top rear of the block (1968 blocks) at the bell housing lip and is 8A275404 (last 8 of VIN). The Hurst 4-speed transmission is also original numbers to the car and shifts excellent through the gears and is an absolute blast to drive! The numbers on the ID badge are 8A275404 PP833 2398(FEB 20th 1968) 0036. The Hurst shifter is new from Brewers Performance as well as the shifter rods, levers, chrome handle, mounting plate and shifter boots. The GTX has excellent drivability and cools well even in stop and go traffic. It has it’s original 26” radiator number 2898047 as well as the factory Mopar fan and fan shroud. This excellent drive train combo runs and drives awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving. The GTX is a factory Track Pak car meaning it came original with the Dana 60 rear-end with the sure-grip 3.54 gears. SUSPENSION The complete front suspension has been rebuilt before I purchased the car and appears to be newer and in great shape! The upper and lower ball joints, upper control arm bushings, tie rods, sway bar end links (front and rear), and many other parts all appear newer. All the brakes, drums, brake hardware, lines, hoses and wheel cylinders are newer. Here are the fender tag codes: (top to bottom) 64 1 1 6 1 95 8 68 S6C QQ1 U 5 RS23 83 3 44 417 280127 You can view additional photos on my shutterfly account.
