For Sale is a my beautiful survivor 1940 Lincoln Zephyr. This car is an overall very nice original unmolested condition. Runs and drives very nice with the original V12and only has 23,xxx miles on it. I believe the interior to be 100% original and was preserved with plastic seat coverings in the 60s. Carpet, seats, door panels, and headliner are in very nice condition for being 80 years old! Some of the dash knobs have started to deteriorate and the trunk carpet was replaced at some point. The body of this car is near perfect. Absolutely no rust ever and as far as I can tell the car has never had any body damage. Doors open and close very nice. All body panels gaps also look very nice. The car was originally Capri Blue Poly but was repainted in the 60s to another original Zephyr color, Burgundy Red. This is an old lacquer paint job and is starting to have some of the typical lacquer crakes. I am not sure why the color change was made but I would assume because the car looks much better in Burgundy. You might also notice in the pictures that the driver's door is a slightly different shade of Burgundy. I am not sure why this is. It is the original door on there still and there is no bondo in it. Either it was done at the time the car was painted or it must have had some minor damage and was repainted. I am thinking it was at the time of the original paint job because the door has some lacquer cracks as well. The odometer says 23,xxx miles and I believe that to be the actual miles. I did a compression check and all 12 cylinders are within 10% of each other. Everything inside the engine compartment seems to be 100% original. Even the carburetor says “Zephyr” on it! Everything is still original 6 volt. All gauges are currently working. The gas gauge is a little bit off but it is working. The tires are about 60 years old and obviously should be replaced. Also the motor of course leaks oil. I believe that most of it is leaking from the pan gasket. The car is currently registered and titled in California with a clean title. I love this car and know that I will probably never own another Zephyr as clean and original as this one but if I was to keep it I would be chopping it. We all know that is not the right thing to do to this beautiful original car. It deserves to be loved and enjoyed just as it is.
