For sale is this fine 1969 Chevrolet Corvette.S#194379S732520. This vehicle was bought by my brother in law Mr Steve Owen inJuly 2015. We traveled to the just beyond Atlanta to buy the vehicle. This is amatching numbers car bought new in Pensacola, Fl on Dec 14, 1969. The builddate was Oct 15 1969. The original owner was Robert W Jacobs (we have theoriginal Protect O Plate as well as the Build Sheet ). Mr Jacobs was a Navalaviator. He sold the car around 1975 with 43000 miles on it to R T Haynes, AMarine officer in Beaufort, SC. The third owner was Commander David Somers Jr.Cmdr Somers sold the car in 1988 to his son, Cmdr David Somers III. Thisgentleman kept the car until 2012 when he sold it to Ron Wells of Charleston,SC. Mr Wells sold the car in 2014 to a retail classic car establishment inAppling, Ga. My brother in law bought the car in July 2015.The car itself is a 350 cubic inch/350HP original enginecar. It has the original 4 speed transmission and a 3.36 posi traction rear end.This rear end was replaced in Jan 2000. The car is an original power brake andpower steering car with factory air conditioning (replaced by Mr Owen with agood working Vintage Air system.) We have many documents for the car showingall work done on the car since 1969. In Oct 1988 the engine was completely rebuilt by Cmdr SomersJr. The block according to the documentation did not need boring. TRW pistons,bearings, timing gear, etc were used in this rebuild. The mileage then wasapproximately 65000. A new cam and lifters were installed at that time and theheads reworked. In 2012 Cmdr Somers III did considerable work on the carincluding a new gas tank, master cylinder, Pittman arm, water pump and more($2179.16) The radiator was replaced in 5/2000. The fourth owner Ron Wells had the car repainted in thecorrect Code 983 Fathom Green in approximately 2013. The paint is nice, nice.Mr Wells also replaced the seat covers and carpets at that time. The T tops arein good shape and recently reinsulated. The weather stripping on the car is allgood.Mr Owen has done considerable work on the car over the past5 years of ownership. This work includes the following (we have all thereceipts for this labor and parts which have a combined cost of $20499.59, paidby Mr Owen in the almost 40 invoices that we have copies of): 1. Complete rebuild of the vacuum headlight doorand windshield door opening system.2. Complete insulation of the car with Dyanmat(sound and vibration) and Dynaliner (heat).3. Complete rebuild of the front steering andsuspension with new (MOOG) ball joints, control arm bushings, tie rod ends,etc.4. Remove old ineffective A/C system and replacewith Vintage Air system5. Stainless steel exhaust system installed6. Tires new in 7/20197. New radio and speakers8. Alternator rebuilt; new starter9. New carburetor 10. New shock absorbers11. Rear suspension and drive train rebuilt with newU Joints and new bearings in the trailing arms12. Rally Wheels new in 2014. The original P02Deluxe wheel covers go with the car13. Petronix ignition added14. All belts, hoses, etc in good shapeThis 1969 Corvette is a really nice vehicle. It isbeautiful, powerful, comfortable and dependable. At 65 or so Mr Owen is havingsome difficulty in getting into and out of the vehicle and that is one reasonhe wants to sell. The car is a wonderful long distance driver. It never getshot even in slow hot traffic situations. It shifts smooth and there is noclutch chatter. My brother in law never scrimps on anything and he certainlyhas not on this fine vehicle.
