1977 Mercedes 280SEI purchased this car a few months ago because I sold my daily driver and ordered a new GMC truck only to see the factory shut down because of the China virus pandemic.I love these cars and knew it would be a good daily driver until my new vehicle was completed.6 months later, the factory reopened and my new vehicle was finally completed. While I love this model, but, I am really partial to the diesel models and really don't have room for this one in my collection. The cars are cheap, but the garage space is not. So I just cannot keep it.The car has been a Florida car its whole life and is in great shape. Some rust in the wheel wells shown on the pictures, but overall, very solid and looks great. The last owner had it garaged for 10 years, so I dumped a ton of money into the car to drive it daily for just a few months.New battery, wires, plugs, cap, rotor etc.... also replaced the rear rotors, brakes, idler arm, pitman arm, tie rods, center drag link and steering stabilizer. Replaced the radio, but have the original radio (included with car).I just put on 2 new tires on the front this week, no road miles on them yet, the rear are 99% tread.I have more new parts (included with car, see pictures) that just need to be installed including, upper and lower ball joints, front rotors and pads, front and rear shocks, axle shafts and other miscellaneous parts. I bought everything to make the car 100% reliable. The car does need a new steering box and has a small crack in the passenger side of the windshield. Make those repairs, bolt on the parts I have provided and have an awesome car for a great price. You wont find another 280SE in this condition this cheap. This car is very unmolested. It even has the original first aid kit unused from 1977.Honestly, I was surprised to see a car in the condition it was and could not resist buying it. But with all my garages full, I really need to let it go.I am down sizing and selling off most of my cars. This is not a flip, I bought the car for myself, registered it and ordered all the parts to make it a perfect driver. Just have way too many cars, too much to deal with and I am downsizing to simplify my life. So most of the parts were never installed. If you are looking for a really nice collector car with a lot of class, this is a great opportunity to get one.Collector car insurance is low, less than $150 a year for a single car.The car does need some attention. The driver side carpet needs to be replaced, some rust in wheel wells, a few dings and the flasher unit stopped working last week.I don't have the time or energy to fix it, so it is up for sale as is where is.I am happy to work with your shipper to get it loaded or pick it up in Tampa Florida 33614.The car is parked at my Business in Tampa, come test drive it and check it out. It is registered and insured with a Florida title and can be driven if you want a test drive.I hate to see it go, but I need to make room for my more expensive collectibles. It wont win the concourse at Pebble Beach, but will look respectable in the parking lot.I have tried to represent the car the best I can, contact me for more photos or videos or to test drive it in Tampa Florida. |
