1949 Studebaker 1-Ton Flatbed. Mechanically a 1980 GMC 1-Ton with a Mopar 440 engine and 727 transmission. Originally built to haul a 5th wheel trailer, but evolved into a "mini bigrig" with dump bed. Engine was replaced with a RV spec 440 Chrysler cratemotor less than 1000 miles ago. Less than 2500 miles on the completed project. PPG basecoat clearcoat paint. Custom bed made from diamond plate steel. Electric hydraulic dump lift. Centec wiring. VDO gauges. Sequential turn signals. Air horns with tank. Stacks! Aluminum saddle tank. Rhino lined bed, bumpers and running boards. Removeable stake sides. Power disc brakes, power steering and air conditioning. Class IV hitch receiver. Titled and insured as a 1949 Studebaker 2R-15. Vintage looks with modern drivability. Lots of fun and useful too. |
