| Mercedes-Benz 450SL1973 450SL Convertible with Hardtop.The vehicle is in very good shape and is all original. The soft top is in impeccable condition. Water will bead on the cloth. No cracks, no fading, clear vinyl. The hardtop has electric heated windows.There are some scratches on the body which can be fixed. The hard top is in great shape but could use a spruce up on the seal before winter. We have always kept it garaged except for when it has been out this summer with it's for sale sign.I am the 3rd owner. I purchased the car from a friend last year who had it for several years. He purchased it from the original owner who had impeccable records. Here is a sampling:It has 223k but it’s fuel injection system, throttle switch and heater hoses completely replaced at 181935.New battery at 152377.New lights 162107New starter 152400New thermostat 119234New water pump 102150You will get the record books. I have never seen anything like this. Every oil change is logged. This car has been cared for and it shows. It turns over the second that you turn the key. The classic car site has it priced at well over $14k starting price sight unseen. It comes with the original fitted cover. Also, fun fact, it comes with a cool 1990's mount for an old school car phone.There are some other papers but I cannot find them. The ones I have are quite comprehensive and the car looks and runs very much in line with the well maintained records we have. This car is ready to be spiffed up and win you money at shows with seriously little invested considering how well it was maintained and the "original" integrity of the mechanical and body/parts/interior.If you restore her, you're looking at an easy $40-60k car. Similar cars are appraising for roughly $20k if you need to get them insured. | |
