CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1965 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside Shortbed Pickup TruckThis is a solid old pickup truck. It was bought new at Anderson Chevrolet in Choteau Montana on 2/12/1965. I have the original owners manual, warranty book, and protecto plate. The original owner sold it in 1975 and the second owner had it from 1975-2020, when I bought it. The body is solid and the truck runs well. It has nice patina and could be driven as-is, or it's a great truck to restore. Below are all the details. I do have more pics also. Thank you. MECHANICALThe chevy has what looks to be a 283 or 327 V8. It has a 2-barrel carb. I have not checked any numbers on the engine to see specifically what it is. I can do that if you need. The motor runs good. It runs cool and has good oil pressure. All gauges work except the aftermarket old-school tachometer. The truck has no dripping leaks. There is no water in the oil, or oil in the water. I would update it with a new carb/efi and 4-barrel intake. The 2-barrel runs ok, but has the old style choke that works off heat and they don't work that well by todays standards. I'm sure a 4-barrel and other standard v8 mods would give it some extra power too. The engine does not tick, knock, smoke or have any misses. I would do the usual stuff like flush all fluids, new plug/wires, and all the other normal tuneup stuff. It runs nice though and doesn't necessarily need work. The transmission is the original 4-speed. The transmission and clutch work as they should. No abnormalities or noises. This has a non-posi rear axle. The truck is manual steering and brakes. The brakes work good and the parking brake works. The truck needs shocks and tires. I have not driven it on the highway. I've driven it fast enough to see that all the gears work. The lights and the interior light works. The turn signal cam in the steering column is broke. They are usually available at most parts houses and they're easy to install. The turn signal lever is included. The dimmer switch for the lights need's replaced. These are cheap and easy to change out also. The exhaust is quiet and wouldn't need replaced, but dual exhaust is cooler for sure. The hubcaps in the pics are not original. They are included but I only have three. I'm sure they are easy to find online to get a 4th, or 5 if you want one on the spare tire. Overall, the truck is very mechanically sound. With exception of new tires and shocks, it will need very little to be a daily driver. BODYThe body is pretty nice for an un-restored '65 chevy. This came from high desert montana area, which is very dry and salt free for the most part. It does have a couple spots of rust which I'll detail: There is rust on the inner rocker/sill area on the passenger side. It's not structural and it wouldn't need fixed if your just going to drive it. The drivers side fender has rust in the low rear corner, which is very common in these years. The passenger side is just barely starting to rust in that same area. The cab corners, cab mounts, and cab/floor supports are fine. Rocker are in nice shape. Each floorpan has a small amount of rust where the floor meets the vertical kick panel. The rust would not need to be fixed for a driver. The rust is just in the floor, not the kick panel area. The floors are solid and usable but it will be an a easy patch if you end up fixing it. The truck was undercoated when new and the metal is like new underneath. Both doors look original but both have had bodywork at some point which you can see in the pics. Both are usable and fixable if you decide to paint it. No rust on the bottom of the doors. No rust on the box or tailgate. The bed floor needs new wood. It's easy to do and kit's are pretty affordable. The windshield is cracked but usable. The rest of the glass is good. I'd guess that they are pretty affordable. The doors, hood, and tailgate operate and latch as they should. This truck has a vintage custom made headache rack too! I do have the other mirror but the glass is gone out of it. Most parts houses have replacements. INTERIORThe interior is pretty basic in these trucks with very little upholstery. The original floormat is in it but worn and partially gone on the drivers side. The doorpanels and dash are uncut, which is nice. Original radio doesn't do anything when you turn it on so maybe it's unhooked or the speaker is bad. The seat was recovered at some point and is comfortable. Gauge area is not cut at all. There is a gun rack in it. This model did not have a headliner. Lights, interior light, wipers, heater fan, and parking brake work. OVERALLThis classic old chevy will be a great truck to just drive or restore. These are good pickups to restore because almost everything you'd need is available aftermarket.
