| 1966 Mercedes Benz 230SL Pagoda, Red over Black in outstanding condition. This is an essentially 2 owner original 87,000 mile, Manual Transmission, Factory AC, 230SL representing a very nice example of the Mercedes Marque. The 230SL is arguably the best of the models and in the most desired color combination. It came fitted from the factory with the sought after options manual transmission and Kuehlmeister AC as well as in the most desirable convertible color of red. This particular 230SL has been a South Carolina car for it's entirety having been with it's most recent owner for almost 40 years. It is an all numbers matching car with all of those specific essentials like engine compartment spot welds and fender indents.This is not a restored car, but one that has been well maintained and prized by both it's previous owners. Paint was done in the early 80's and shows as if it was done very recently with hardly a significant blemish to be found. Interior has also been updated along the way and still shows very nicely. An aftermarket radio has been installed but the working factory Blaupunkt radio is included. The convertible top is black German cloth and in excellent condition with clear glass and almost flawless fabric with one minor spot. Overall chrome and glass are both in very good condition with everything being set off by the newer white wall tires. This one runs and drives like they were intended. Mechanically this car remains in very good condition. Starts right up and runs and drives out very well with everything working generally as it should. The engine is very strong, holds good oil pressure and sounds great with a newer Stainless Steel Exhaust. The clutch and transmission work as expected. AC will need to be serviced. Whether you are looking for one to show, a daily driver, or something to drive on Sunday afternoon this one should suit those needs.
