With a sad heart I am listing my 1969 Chevelle SS. I found this car years ago in South western Virginia in a barn. I brought it home and started the research to prove the fact of it being a true SS. The main indicators were there. The interior trim is correct, the turbo 400 kick down switch is still on the gas pedal, still has two piece brakes. 12 bolt rear is still intact with open diff as it came. I ordered the NCRS report on the car, and to my astonishment the car sold new in the town I live of West Point Virginia at Whitmore Chevrolet (Still in Business today) . To make the story better the cars official build date is February 14 1969 Valentines Day! The Chevelle SS came new as a Frost Green with dark green vinyl top and dark green folding bench seat interior. Car is factory AC . Original 12 bolt open diff CX stamped 3:07 gear. Factory tinted glass. The car would have been a 396/350 hp transmission was a turbo 400 column shift. Condition: Body is decent. Had rust in lip and lower quarter panels on both sides. Fender will need replaced but are included . Core support has rust in lower section by battery box , but I’d included. Doors both have small spot the needs repair but close like new. Floor had a 4 speed installed at one time in its life and has a patch, it’s a shame as the floors are nice with a few salt and pepper spots . Trunk has surface rust but solid. All panels appear to be originals . Interior-Wiring is all still original and intact . Dash pad is cracked but another original pad comes with car. Seats need to restored, carpet I’d gone. seatbelts are original. Door panels come with car but need restored. Head liner is intact and in good shape with the rear panel unstitched but not ripped. Steering wheel is not correct. Car also comes with a new non fired engine , professionally assembled 427 with all forged bottom end, square port iron heads worked by Lee Edwards”the General” ex Prostock driver. Comes with correct 163 winters aluminum intake and a 780 vacuum sec carb . Only need a cam kit of your choice depending on how you want to drive it. Also a new ready to run built turbo 400 transmission . Also will include a 3 series Posi unit for the 12 bolt. Car is apart right now as a roller. It can be assembled if needed, I was in the process of getting it ready for media blast, but life gets in the way.
