1969 Chevelle Super Sport. Real Super Sport. Low 10 second street or strip car. The car came from the factory with a 396 and a 4 speed. The car now has a .060" over 427 large port engine that makes around 600 H.P.. The car ran 10.13@ 128 mph at Englishtown, N.J. The large port, open chamber cylinder heads were professionally ported and polished. Ultradyne roller camshaft, rocker arms, stud girdles, etc. Turbo 400 automatic transmission with transbrake and ATI 5000 rpm stall converter. Complete Moser rear differential with spool, 4:88 gear ratio. I have owned the car since 1983. When I bought the car it was a legal NHRA stocker, running G/SA. The suspension is still set up as it was when it was a stocker. The body is stock and has not been cut (no mini tubs) The car can easily be set up to run in the stock classes again. This car "hooks up" hard anywhere including on the street. She can easily put a "hurtin" on any late model muscle that wants to "play". I have spent about $7000 in the past year getting the car ready to be driven on the street. I replaced the entire fuel system, gas tank, all the fuel lines, fuel pump and regulator, new racing carburetor. The entire charging system was upgrade to a high amperage system. The cooling system was upgraded with an aluminum radiator, thermostatically controlled high capacity cooling fans, new aluminum water pump, thermostat, etc.. The entire exhaust system was replaced from the tail pipes right up to the brand new coated Hooker Super Competition headers. I have all the parts to put the car back to stock. Many spare parts are included in the saleThe body is nearly perfect and "LASER" straight. New GM (no aftermarket crap) FULL quarter panels and front fenders were replaced, no cost was spared and no corners were cut when the body was done. The car is a "head turner" and gets A LOT of attention wherever she goes. There are waaaay too many other quality parts and details installed details to list here. I have owned the car for nearly 40 years so there is a lot of history. The only reason I am selling the car is because I don't use it enough. It sits most of the time and it is too nice to not be enjoyed by someone.
