Here is a rare opportunity to own a gorgeous 1970 4 speed Dodge Challenger T/A Tribute car at a fraction of the cost. I have owned the car for two years with plans to finish it with a big block, however I need to reduce the size of my collection. I built the 383 six-pack and an A833 four speed which is sitting ready to install. The cost of the car finished will be far higher and out-of-reach for many. I felt if I sold it without the engine and transmission, it would appeal to those who might choose to go with a 340 or modern hemi set-up, or have a junk car with a running engine and trans.. It has been completely rotisserie restored with nothing left untouched and ready for you to add an engine and transmission of your choice, which is where the savings comes in. It is a project I have invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in. As far as what's new, I can only give a summary, far too much list; This car started out as a 225 slant 6 with a 3 speed manual, which is actually rare, but not cool. All sheet metal was replaced from the back seat to the rear bumper. This included a one-piece trunk floor, drops, seat back with complete rear frame rails factory welded for a flawless finish. Lower rear quarters and partial inner wheel houses. The body underwent hours and hours of prime and blocking sessions to achieve an incredibly straight body, which is finished in a stunning Hemi orange base coat/clear coat. The fiberglass hood is an AAR brand which is the best on the market at a cost of over $1200.00 both hood hinges are also new. All suspension and brake parts were replaced with new, including all rubber hoses and e-brake cables. New front disc brake conversion was also installed. All rubber body seals were replaced with new, including window whiskers and trunk seal. All glass is new, with the exception of the two rear quarter windows which are in great shape. All chrome trim was either polished or replaced. Interior is finished (still needs a radio of your choice) all seats were reupholstered, new headliner, carpet, sill plates, a-pillar covers, and a new dash pad, not a cover ($700) remaining trim was refinished and installed. All wiring harnesses and connectors were cleaned, greased and retaped. The K-member is powder coated and will accept either a small block or big block Mopar V8 and includes a power steering pump. 8 ¾ rear end, which is also powder coated and includes a 410 sure grip in a 742 case. New axle bearings (green bearings) and powder coated 10” backing plates. The wheels are 14" and will move the vehicle, But will need to be replaced with 15" due to the disc brakes. If I don’t sell the car as is, I will install the engine and transmission and list it at a substantially higher price. |
