CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1977 El Camino Classic in good condition for a 43 year old unrestored car. I purchased this vehicle from the original owners son and the title shows mileage at 196,231. The odometer does not record miles and is broken but the speedometer does work correctly. The car runs and drives nice and smooth and has a 305 V8 coupled with a THM350 automatic transmission that shifts nice through all gears. I do not have the historical maintenance record for this car so I don't know any history in that regard. I did however find the build sheets in the doors when I replaced the driver and passenger window external weather sweeps. This is the original factory color scheme but I can't say whether or not it has been repainted again, I don't know. The transmission and engine are also verified by the build sheet. This car was built in Freemont, California. The following are issues I have found since purchase. The window washer fluid tank is cracked and broken and the driver gear pointer does not follow gear selection but it does mechanically go through all the gear selections as it should, just an indication issue with the pointer. Carpet is badly faded and needs to be replaced and the windshield has a birds eye crack on the passenger side. The chrome strip below the rear window needs to be replaced, it is dented, beat up and bowed out. The dash is cracked like most cars of this vintage and there are some exterior rust spots all shown in the pictures but just surface rust with no holes. The lower seam on the passenger side door has some rust holes on the inside of the lower door area but not rusted on the outer door as the pictures show. The drivers lower door is the same but much less rust in the same area. The paint appears to be old but buffs to a nice shine as you can see and there are some body dings to be expected for a 43 old car. The tires are different brands from front to back but all four have great tread and are balanced well. The previous owner swapped in what appears to be Camaro bucket seats and an aftermarket steering wheel that I do like. It has an after market Pioneer stereo but only one rear speaker works and it has scratchy audio. The floor pans have no rust holes and are in great shape as well as the bed as you can see in the pictures. It has dual exhaust with glass packs and sounds great. The following has been replaced since I have owned the car. Front brakes, pads and calipers, same rotors. Rear brake cylinders and all internal hardware except pads that were in good shape. Some brake lines in the rear have been replaced as well as both rear coil springs are new. The fuel tank sending unit is new with a new strainer and the tank was removed and cleaned out. It has a new battery, distributor weights (originals were sticking and not assisting with timing advance). Cap, rotor, wires and plugs are new and both door external weather sweeps are new. The pictures were taken before those were changed so ignore those in the pictures. The wheels are rally sport wheels in great shape and give the car a nice muscle look. The far right brake light lens on the back is cracked. Oil and filter have been changed twice back to back because prior to my purchase the car sat for 8 years in a garage. Oil pressure sending unit is also new the original failed. The prior owner also installed rear air shocks that look new. Overall a very nice car and basically an untouched version of the original other than the interior mods I mentioned. The prior owner also removed the a/c compressor, brackets and the lines but the remainder of the system is intact as well as the electrical connector for the compressor that is stored over by the master cylinder. I have no idea why it was removed but with a compressor, lines, and brackets it could be restored back again. The condenser, evaporator, and accumulator are installed. This will make someone a nice daily driver or a perfect selection for a full restoration. The frame is great with just surface rust. There are very few from this vintage that have been untouched that still look this good. There are a few but not many. $6500 or best offer.
