Following the demise of NSU, Mazda was left as the only major automobile manufacturer producing vehicles with the Wankel rotary engine. An entire range of rotary models was developed during the 1970s, but by the decade's end the RX-7 sportscar was the only one of its type selling in significant numbers. Powered by a Wankel rotary engine of 1,146 displacement, it provided great handling and quick acceleration while remaining very fuel efficient, all wrapped beautifully in a sport coupe package. The RX7 is one of the most collectible Japanese sports cars. This unrestored example still retains its original dealer pre-delivery inspection crayon markings under the hood. The seats, original carpet padding, door panels, dash and center console are in excellent condition. It is rust free with its only deviation from factory delivery being an exterior repaint in Solar Yellow it received approximately ten years ago. Recent mechanical services include an oil service, new radiator, brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and battery. Included with the sale is the original tool kit and Owner's Manual. |
