CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
About this vehicle This 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire is an original with updates to the drivetrain. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Seller's Notes A pristine 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire Coupe...deep metallic blue with white leather interior. All chrome is new with zero pitting, bumpers re-chromed, and most stainless brightwork has been replaced where needed during 2009 restoration done in California. The 394 V8 Original numbers-marching engine had its top end redone, also during the restoration. This Starfire Coupe starts easy and runs great. I bought this car for cruises and trips to the beach, but change of plans means not enough garage space, so this beauty must go. Exterior A genuine Van Nuys California desert car - no rust ever ! The original detailed invoice, owners manual, protecto-plate, and original black Calif plates are included. This highly-optioned Oldsmobile Starfire stands out wherever it goes. The blue metallic paint shines well, and is a solid “8”. It appears that there has been just 1 re-paint in the 55+ years since this car was born. The paint job appears to have been of high quality: No orange peel, drips, crazing, etc. All jambs, undersides of trunk lid, hood, etc were professionally done. During restoration the rear transom (between trunk lid and bumper) was removed and polished to a mirror finish, as was the dashboard and glove compartment door. Dual power rear radio antennas were installed, as well as a remote amplifier under the rear shelf (The JVC underdash aftermarket stereo is not currently installed - but will be included). The wheels are 1-piece 16” polished aluminum Spectrum 2000 brand, which look great with the wide whitewall tires (80% tread remaining as seen in pictures.) This car doesn’t have mundane Cragar or Torq Thrust wheels like so many others. This full-size Olds has a great, level stance as-is, but could also be lowered if that look is desired. MORE PICTURES MAY BE SENT TO YOU UPON REQUEST. CONTACT SELLER WITH ANY QUESTIONS. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR JUST 2 YEARS, BUT I CAN TRY TO ANSWER MOST QUESTIONS. BID WITH CONFIDENCE: CHECK MY 100% POSITIVE EBAY RATING AND MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS AN EBAYER. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK! Interior Beautiful white leather interior with dark blue carpet - I installed the LED interior and door courtesy lights. The console is in excellent condition, and the console-mounted Tachometer works. The dashboard was polished to a mirror finish. Engine This classic Olds has its original 394ci “Ultra High Compression” motor sitting under the hood. The original factory invoice has the list of options, and shows a sticker price of $5,427.81. That was a high price tag back in 1964! Factory options include Air Conditioning, power brakes, tilt wheel, power drivers bucket seat, power windows, power steering, AM-FM radio (not working), etc. During the 2009 restoration a few worthwhile upgrades were made including Wildwood front disc brakes, a 700r4 overdrive transmission, a custom over-sized aluminum driveshaft, and a transmission cooler (where the battery was originally located) to keep this car running cool even on the hottest desert days. Included are the original owners manual, protecto-plate, the original black California license plates, and the factory invoice from Century Oldsmobile in Van Nuys CA, making this car a great addition for a classic car collector.
