In 1965, the 2+2 package option now came standard with a 421ci V8, dual exhaust, a performance 3.42 axle ratio, heavy duty sports spring & shock absorbers, and decorative faux louvers on the exterior body. Additionally, the old Hydramatic transmission was replaced with a new Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed synchromesh automatic transmission.
