Make: 1955 International Harvester Model: R100 ½ Ton Pickup Color: Willow Green Engine: 2015 350 C.I. GM Crate (300 HP) Performance V8 w/ 4BBL Carb Transmission: Automatic 700 R4 Overdrive with Shift Kit Interior: Custom Vintage Saddle Brown Synthetic Leather LOCATED IN CARLSBAD CA The truck was originally restored in 1997, refreshed in 2004 and most recently renewed with a new engine and complete overhaul in 2015. The almost perfect cab and body were removed and painted by Auto Tech using Sikkens products in the original color of Willow Green. Frame and chassis modifications were all completed by Jerry Dawson Engineering. Chrysler Volare adjustable torsion bar independent front suspension with disk brakes with hidden receiver hitch and under bed spare tire. Under cab brake booster and battery tray. With the modifications made to the suspension the truck is more comfortable than some modern trucks. New interior fabrication and upholstery were completed by Jerry Sexauer in saddle brown original style material for the headliner, visor, seats, and door panels, using a GM bench with tilt forward back rest and matching seatbelts. Custom Autosound USA-740 radio added in 2017 along with four new Kicker speakers and a powered subwoofer. Dynamat sound deadening on all interior body panels and floor. Old Air vintage AC and heat blows cold and warm. The new engine, with black and gold engraved valve covers, was installed by STL Tuners with detail work done by them and then over to Jim Trenary Chevrolet in Troy MO. The inside of the original steel pickup box has been Rhino Lined, making it a very functional truck bed. This truck works well for hauling small groups during parades in the box, and the hidden receiver allows the truck to also pull medium-size floats and trailers. The truck also comes with sideboards made of South American hardwood known as Ipe, for both sides, front and back of the box. These sideboards look great, protect the painted sides and allow for advertising opportunities if desired. The original selling point for the R100 was that it had “the roomiest cab on the road” because of the curved dashboard, large one-piece Sweepsight windshield, and the fact that the 12-gallon fuel tank was located under the truck instead of behind the seat. Another selling point was the all steel pickup bed, which both farmers and commercial users preferred. Truck is registered and titled in Missouri and is in my name. Financing is very easy and affordable with JJ Best, Woodside Credit and others offering low rates and payments. Please ask any questions and I welcome you to come and see or have it inspected. Auto transport is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will be available and work with them for pick up. |
