You are looking at a 1971Chevrolet El Camino. This is an older Frame-Off Restoration. It is a numbers-Matching vehicle. I bought this vehicle because I love these cars. I am not a car expert so I am mostly relying on what I have been told when I purchased it. It is a 396-Turbo engine bored to a factory 402 output 400hp, with a 400 turbo transmission, 12-bolt rear-end standard 3.73 ratio. Disc brakes in the front and drums in the back. Duel exhaust. The bed is rhino-lined and looks brand new. I was told this was going to be a SS Hertiage. It appears that the Restoration was about 95 % completed when they either ran out of money or interest. The wipers are not hooked up, the horn does not work there is a stereo installed, there might be other small electrical issues, I have only driven the vehicle for maybe an hour. It needs the liner behind the seats. The A/C compresser is out of the vehicle but one can be installed if that's the way you want to go. They also sell plates if you want to cover it up. The paint is not perfect, there are a few paint spots that would need attention. I would rate the paint at around 9 out of 10, it has 8 coats of clearcoat applied. These is no rust or rot anywhere. Solid through-out. including frame.. I just took this to a mechanic and he put it on a lift, that is how I got the underneath pictures.I was told that it is a good running machine, mechanically strong. This would be a great vehicle with just a little work. I just don't have the time or space to do it. You can add your personal touches, but you would do that with anything you buy, so it does not affect my price. I don't have long term storage so I need to let this go. My lose your gain. I will consider all offers.. I also have a 4speed tramsmission complete setup and console that will go with this. This is just in case you want to turn it into a 4speed. The existing tramsmission works like it should. This is by no means perfect it is an older restoration and it is priced that way. This ElCamino has so much potential for the right lover of these vehicles, they will only go up in value With a couple finishing touches and your personal touches you will be proud to show this off. The extra 4 speed transmission setup will go with the vehicle when the reserve is met. This is listed As-Is no warrantee implied or stated. I try and list as accurate as possible. I am not a mechanic and I only state what is told to me. Look at the pictures and make your decision. This is the best deal on a 1971 Elcamino. You can finish this vehicle, add your personal touches and you will have your dream car without breaking the bank. |
