CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
"GOOD OL' PONTIAC PATINA"Up for sale is a wonderful old piece of automotive History. This all original 1962 Pontiac Tempest, 4 Cylinder rear transaxle drive is barn fresh. With the exception of being worked on mechanically to get it running and driving again, the car has yet to be even washed or even vacuumed out. It starts right up, goes in and out of gear instantly and drives around our property. The Brakes are what needs to be gone through on this car, I have replaced a few of the front lines, and new master cylinder but it appears that the Rubber Brake -Flex hoses from line to wheel cylinder have collapsed and "solidified" due to age, blocking fluid flow to cylinders. Drums and Brakes appear to be there and with functionality. It does indeed stop with it's Emergency\Parking Brake and can definitely be loaded on a flatbed, trailer etc. Car has four brand new Firestone All season tires installed on October 1st, 2020. Other new parts include, Wires and spark plugs (included, not installed), Other very wholesome and novel features of this car include it's dash mounted gear selector, original AND FUNCTIONING AM Radio, has a very nice warm sound to it. As I was moving it around the yard I was listening to one of my favorite Dave Clark Five song "Because" on our local oldies station. Wipers work as well (needs new blades before use). Driver side and glove compartment key lock cylinders are out of place, I have the door lock cylinder but the glove compartment lock cylinder is missing. Rear tail light lenses, as seen in the photos are cracked and should be replaced. The Frame is in marvelous condition, with paint and undercoating still on it. The floors are decent with the exception of two Rust holes on both the Driver and passenger side front floor pan. The passenger side of hood has a small split crimp that bends a bit when opening hood, the hood still opens and closes fine but should be welded. The muffler system up to the front pipe is mostly the only thing really rotted and will need to be replaced. The trunk is quite decent for age and still intact, minor rust and rot pin holes, a little bit of rot break through into the lower side\fender wells. All in all, nothing terrible. With the brake work completed and gone through, this car would be a really fun driver. Paint is patina'd nicely as you can see.Interior is quite decent for it's age, headliner and seats are intact, with exception of some mouse chewing on a small (golf ball size) hole on front driver's side, and a few inch wide mouse chewing area near rear passenger side top-back seat. There is no prior registration present for the vehicle, I have signed Deceased-Release papers from previous owner who's property it was originally found on in the Catskills of Upstate, NY. I can also provide a custom drafted Bill of Sale by me as well as all the necessary papers we use here in New York State to register (Pre-1972 Vehicles without a problem. This car would be a wonderful full restoration or charming drive as is or restore while drive situation and I'd love to see it go to a great home. Take her home today and get her back on the open road as she's meant to be!NOTE: THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD ENTIRELY AS IS, WHERE IS, ALL SALES FINAL
