1954 Ford Sunliner convertible with 33k documented miles. V8 Ford motor with automatic transmission. Power convertible top. Power steering. Upgraded dual master cylinder braking system. This 1954 Ford Sunliner convertible is a fun, good looking and driving classic. The drive train is from a '71 Ford 302 cu. with a C4 3 speed automatic transmission. Starts right up every time...one of the fun things that love about this Ford is that can let the car go unstarted for 4-5 days, go in the garage, reach in the window, put the key in the ignition (left of the steering column) and turn to the start position...and it fires up every time without getting into the car and pumping the gas. It's that reliable. Doesn't smoke upon starting or at any other time while driving.Clicks into reverse, drive and park seamlessly. Upon acceleration, the Sunliner goes through all 3 gears quickly without any slippage or banging in the transmission. Don't know for sure, but am estimating it has 3:50 gears...has nice pull to it. Engine is strong and accelerates well. Idles smoothly and quietly. This car is rock solid without any rust on the body, trunk or floorboards. Convertible top is fairly new and is without wrinkles or stains. Has 5 newer Coker wide white walls that have less than 200 miles of driving since new. Chrome and trim is driver quality with some dings and pimples.Interior has been redone and looks terrific. Dashboard, pillars and inner door tops have been restored and properly painted. Carpets are fresh and without wear or stains. Seats have been reupholstered professionally and show very well. Has a small inch and a half slit in driver seat bottom and small slit in the driver door panel. An upgraded set of gauges have been installed under the lower dash to monitor temperature, oil pressure and amps. Runs very cool, even in traffic. First day while cruising in the town am living, had got caught in huge traffic jam, as the main road was being torn up and replaced. Sat still for 15-20 minutes idling, and temperature never went above 190 degrees.Put the top down, turn up the stereo and rest your left elbow on the top of the driver door while you go for a cruise. Very easy car to drive, as the power steering makes for nice 1 finger steering. The car brakes well and straight. The upgraded dual master cylinder makes for nice piece of mind. Has a CD player installed in the glove compartment. All of the lights and directional signals work properly. The paint and body itself is driver quality...essentially a 10 footer. There are small dings on the car that were not attended to when it was repainted 8-9 years ago. But there are no rust bubbles or rust coming up on the paint. As mentioned earlier...this car is rock solid. The speedometer currently does not work, but does come with a new speedometer cable. There is also a newer boot top stored in the trunk.Overall, this '54 is a reliable nice cruiser...gets thumbs up and honking horns every time it is taken out for a cruise.
