1972 CHEVY IMPALA CONVERTIBLE RESTORATION PROJECT Selling a 1972 Chevy Impala convertible restoration project. Car was restored and painted years ago, but will need a total cosmetic restoration again. It has rust starting to come through in the fenders, doors, rockers, and quarters. There are few small rust holes in the trunk as well. The floors have been patched in the past and are good for now. There is a rust hole under the rear passenger side seat 2 to 3 inches in diameter....easy to patch. The frame is solid and rust free. The car is very solid and has good bones. It will need a new convertible top. It has some rips here and there but nothing major and does not leak. It has no back window due to a falling tree limb that just recently happened. The interior is original and is starting to show signs of wear. The dash has cracks and the rear seat is starting rip on the top when you drive with the top down. This car has been in the same family since new. It is a one owner all original car. The odometer shows 36,000 miles but I'm pretty sure it has 136,000 miles. Over $3000 spent on maintenance back in 2017 when it was parked. Receipts go with the car. It is all numbers matching including the 350 engine and turbo 350 transmission. Car has power steering, power brakes, power top, air conditioning, and roll up windows and manual locks. The air conditioning does not work. The car starts right up and runs great. Drives very smooth with no rattles or squeaks. It shifts nice too. It has brand new brakes and brake lines and stops excellent. It has a new fuel line as well. Tires were replaced within the last few years. The scissor top goes up and down, but operates slow. I installed new cables and have a new relay (not installed) that goes with the car. This is a running and driving project you can fix while you cruise around. I enjoyed this car all summer and took the kids out for ice cream in it and rides to the beach. It is a pleasure to drive. It turns heads everywhere you go! I have a clean NJ title in hand. Car is reliable and can be driven long distance.
