Letter for delivery will be included (from Studebaker in South Bend, for delivery of several cars to Cuba). Reason for Sale: I recently purchased another Studebaker, a 1950 Commander locally and plan to keep that one. I drive the car weekly to evaluate the car. Starts every timeCar Overview: This car's photo is on the inside cover of the September issue of "Turning Wheels". The most recent issue is focused on the 1948 Studebaker.1. Rebuilt engine in 2012, with just over 5000 miles. Sounds and runs great. Cost of over $5,0002. Rebuilt rear axle in 2019, receipt to be included. Cost of over $12003. Trans shifts through all gears no issues noted4. Recent paint job, last 10 years?5. Tires good tread6. Interior in nice condition, as seen in photos7. Have driven the car up to 50 MPH on the X-way with no vibration8. Car starts every time 9. Very Solid Body10. Looks like bumpers were re-chromed at some point, see photos11. Minor electrical issues, e.g. Passenger headlight operation is intermittent.2. Horn does not work3. Speed odometer not operational4. Window regulators work but need adjustments and/or repair to operate more easily. 5. Windows and trunk seals are OK but I would want to rework trunk seal - no major leaks but not very professional job at re-paint 6. Front hood latch sometimes sticks - will open with some effort7. Passenger side window is cracked but intact8. No key for locked glove box.9. Parking brake not working Car is sold "AS IS' with no implied or expressed warranty. There are no returns and / or refunds. Sales are final. Buyer is expected to pick up the car locally or provide and pay for transportation. Title will be provided when full payment is received. Car is insured with Haggerty. Reason to re-post the ad. Make a decision as to keep the second Studebaker in additional to my 1950 Commander and determined that I will focus my attention to get the 1950 as close to perfection as I can. Prefer the bullet nose.I have corrected some information and added photo's of underneath the 1948 Studebaker. I tried to add underneath photos of the 48 before the last auction was to end and could not. Felt it was important to provide more info. I have 100% feedback and over 20 years of selling on Ebay. Regards,Mike |
