CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1974 Porsche 914 collectors car. This Porsche has a $12,000+ electric conversion kit that was installed in 2008 by an engineer and college professor in Georgia. The car was first titled in Arizona in October of 1974 and is now located in Michigan. I purchased this car a few months ago and just don't have time to give it the love and attention it deserves so I am hoping a collector or true Porsche enthusiast will pick this unique car up and give it a good home. I don't know much about the car but I have a stack of information from the previous owner and was told the batteries were replaced recently (maybe a year ago). The previous owner also told me the cars front brakes were seizing a little bit due to it not being driven often enough. I have personally looked the vehicle over and driven it a very short distance and found that the front brakes do tend to hold once pressed, I also noticed that the gear shifter seems to have trouble shifting into both first gear and reverse although once in gear it seems to be fine so its likely just a linkage issue. This car is solid and presents well but it isn't a perfect show queen, this would make a great driver and show piece or could be restored to perfection if a person wanted to do so. I would highly recommend doing a physical inspection or having a mechanic review the car if you like. This is a used car and although I have shared everything I know of the car I am not a mechanic so please do your own due diligence and be sure you are satisfied with the condition of the car. Car also includes a car cover and a spare tire. This exact car was featured on Jalopnik: https://jalopnik.com/for-12-000-i-sing-the-porsche-electric-5783193This a very rare opportunity for a serious collector to own a great car at a very reasonable price. This 1974 Ponsche 914 Electric Vehicle was converted in 2008 by an engineer and college professor in Georgia car has a range of 125 miles (Advertised by Electo Auto. I've driven it up to 102 miles). Acceleration is modest and it keeps up with traffic. The motor is an Azure Dynamics/Solectria AC24 3-Phase AC Azure Dynamics AC24 motor is bolted to factory 5 speed through a stock clutch and a very nice Electro Automotive adapter. The motor is controlled by Azure Dynamic Solectrin DMOC 445 three phase inverter with computer functions that take care of everything You can connect your laptop and adjust the parameters if you'd like. This is the same system that MIT has for the EV development team. The AC system has 144 volts and regenerative braking which increases range and efficiency Maintenance consists of checking the batteries monthly and occasionally adding oil to the transmission (forget about spark plugs and oil changes!) The car can be plugged up into any 15 amp wall outlet. It takes time to charge (up to 8 hours from empty to full) and costs about 2 cents per mile to drive. Very cheap
