I was told by his loving wife that Dan Murphy purchased this car new! He went out to the factory in Michigan and drove this car home to Massachusetts. Dan took extremely good care of this car and was known to use it at weddings and other special occasions! He drove it over 200,000 miles since picking up at the factory in 1948!!! Sadly Dan passed roughly 10 years ago and the car sat idle for roughly 14 years.This 48 Woodie Convertible has had 1 minor repair to the right front fender. The Chrome work and trim are in excellent condition with some wear & tear. The grill does have some pitting and presents very well. The power top functions very well. It will need 4 tires replaced due to age and cracking. Brakes feel good, however, some pulling when applying is felt. The transmission functions properly. The speedometer cable was found stored in a canister in the trunk. This vehicle was appraised on February 14, 2012, by Daniel J. LaCroix of Collector Car Appraisals, LLC MA License No. 013510 at a value of $180,000 due to the car having one owner and rust-free original condition.This vehicle comes with a Massachusetts title.
