CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER | |

This listing is for a 1957 Jeep FC150 Forward Control with ~70k miles. I have owned Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, and none of them got the attention and smiles that this car brings. My wife is not a car person and she absolutely fell in love with it at first sight. This truck needs nothing. I purchased it from an aircraft pilot who restored it 8 years ago and switched the color from the original red to this beautiful tan color. It is the perfect color to highlight the truck's proportions. When I bought it, I felt that she deserved all the care necessary. I did fix the RH side lower door and LH wheel well. The driver's side window recently developed a small crack. The cab corners are in great shape. The manual 3-speed transmission shift is perfect. The transfer case works perfect. There are no suspension noises or vibrations. Steering is direct. She starts right up! Idles great, no smoke, leaks or weird smells. She already has an alternator conversion and hydraulic ebrake upgrades. Everything works: horn, heat, wipers, blower, lights etc….. Just a perfect weekend, beach or cabin cruiser. We went through everything on this truck the last 8 months. As you can see there are a number of custom touches as well: •New custom metal flatbed. •New wood flooring with custom polished strips. •New wood sides with new stakes and pockets•New custom rear step•New tan headliner•New reupholstered tan interior seats/panels with matching brown piping in high durability vinyl.•Updated cards for all the interior panels.•Matching under dash panels•New door vent glass•New ignition switch & keys•Full set of dash gauges•New Stewart Warner fuel gauge•Stewart Warner amperage gauge•Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge•Stewart Warner temperature gauge•Full updated wiring harness•1 New fuse box +12V with updated blade fuses•1 New fuse box for ignition components with updated blade fuses•New heater blower switch•New signal flasher relay•Windshield wiper kit•Has working dash fan•Heater blower box was refurbished•New coolant valve in blower box•New heater core coolant hoses•Heater core pressure tested and cleaned•Fuel sender unit was cleaned and tested works perfect.•New fuel filler neck and hose.•New carburetor•New fuel filter •New spark plugs•New valve cover gasket•New oil pan gasket•New front diff gasket•New rear diff gasket•New rear diff seals •New Gabriel shocks (4) all the way around•New brake master cylinder•New brake lines•New brake cylinders (4)•New brakes shoes and hardware all the way around•New full exhaust system•New reverse light•Tires are almost new maybe 50 miles on them•Springs are in great shapeShe is a 63 yr old truck so there are some typical scratches and nicks (no dents!). But overall she is in great shape ready to give reliable, fun motoring for years. The chassis is in great shape and has been rust proofed and painted. I have done my best to show the flaws in the pictures. For those that know she is based on the Willys jeep chassis but offers much more usability and cool factor than a VW microbus, Dodge A100,or classic Ford econoline van. She would also be a great promotional for a microbrewery, ski resort, outdoor brand or any business looking to create some more awareness in these times. I am also including a factory service manual, parts list and the Massachusetts black antique license plate. As you can see she has been a labor of love. It has been a pleasure to own and work on.I am selling her because I now realize that I love to work on cars so would rather have someone else drive and enjoy instead of sitting in my driveway while I work on the next project. Feel free to ask any questions or for link to more pics Bid with confidence. |
