This vehicle was purchased from a gentleman in California who had bought it with the intention of restoring the vehicle but marriage and children got in the way,,,,,,he purchased it from a guy in Vermont 6 years before. I purchased the vehicle 9 years ago with the intention of doing a full rotisserie restoration in 6 months.....the 6 months turned into 5 years. Everything that could be restored was kept, any rust was replaced with new green panels. The beam was rebuilt by a renowned vw guy, and the engine and gearbox was rebuilt also by a renowned vw mechanic. All suspension was replaced, shocks and all new rubbers seals ect.....The interior cabinetry is all original including the mustard seat cushions...clamshell wall lighting , new birch panels line the roof, long side panel and door panels aswell as the cab panels....all new wiring, brakes, powder coated bumpers and wheels set this beautiful van off with new bright chrome hub caps, and new whitewall tires.....The curtains were replaced with something a little more modern but I do have the originals which will be included in the sale.....The original fridge is in place and in good order,,,,the type that you place a block of ice in it to keep your food fresh for the duration of your stay. Starts on the button and drives like a new vehicle. Over $20,000 invested into this vehicle, I will also pay $2000 towards shipping the vehicle anywhere in the world to the highest bidder. |
