Selling 1970 Ford Maverick with 351C engine and C6 trans. I purchased this car earlier this summer with intentions of keeping but realized I do not have the time to put into it now as I need to finish a few other projects. It is a very solid car, the only rust-through is small spot in each rear quarter behind tire that is pictured. Floors are solid. Most of car seems to have original paint on it that has a good patina/barn find look. Has Explorer seats and new carpet in it, door panels are decent as well as headliner. Rear seat war removed and I do not have it. Has new door hinge bushings and door seals. New CD stereo with four speakers. Full set of gauges with narrow band O2 setup. I did not do any of the work on this but it has had quite a few mods done to it. It has a completely rebuilt 351 Cleveland with 400 heads (9.0 compression ratio), Edelbrock 4V intake w/600 carb, forged pistons, roller rockers/guide plates, Milodon gear drive, mild hydraulic cam. New headers and exhaust. Engine runs great, has about two hours on it. Has a new electric fan and aluminum radiator. Transmission is a used C6 that works well. New trans cooler. Rear axle is a drum brake 8.8 with limited slip and 3.55 gears. New aluminum wheels and new BF Goodrich tires. The previous owner removed the front shock towers and fabricated his own frame rails and control arms. The spindles and brakes are new. Has new QA1 coil over shocks. The work done on the frame is solid but the suspension needs attention. I purchased tubular Mustang II type upper and lower control arms along with a manual steering rack to replace existing setup. These are pictured and will go with car. It does run and drive but is not safe in my opinion, mostly due to steering components. I think he lost interest towards the end of project and cobbled together steering to get it out of his shop and sell it. He also set up truck arm type rear suspension in rear with new coil over QA1 shocks. have about $6k in receipts for parts that don't include all of parts or car. I really like the car and would like to keep but my business and family takes up most of my project time these days. Is a great start on a cool street car, a lot of the dirty work is done and the body looks good as-is in my opinion or would take minimal bodywork to paint. I have a clear title in my name, vehicle will need to be trailered due to steering/front suspension issues. Shipping will be responsibility of buyer, I will assist with loading, etc. Delivery may be possible in Northwest US for an agreed fee. |
