This GTX has been in our family since 2001. Prior to that it was stored in the seller’s mom's garage for roughly 10 years with the hope the seller was going to restore it. The body is very straight and solid with no issues. Everything fits very well and lines are straight. Vinyl top was installed just after the bodywork and paint was completed 2009. Everything from front to back was painted including the exterior, engine compartment, trunk, and interior. Blacked out grille is excellent condition with no cracks. Stainless was all straightened and polished so that all looks great. Chrome (bumpers, mirrors, tail light housings, etc…) have been re-plated as well. INTERIOR: Very nice black interior new in ~2009. New carpet, seat covers,headliner, sail panels, package tray, and so on. Nice original dash pad with no cracks. Rally gauges are very nice with no breaks or cut-outs in the surround. Bucket seats with middle buddy seat/arm rest, and column shift. Lights, radio, and all the rest of the electrical stuff works just as it should. Has tinted glass that was swapped over from a Texas donor car that had A/C.ENGINE: Non-numbers matching ’72 440 transplanted from a low mile (~35k miles) station wagon. It’s a forged steel crank motor with HD rods. I had the heads milled .060 and the mating intake surfaces milled accordingly since it was a low compression motor. New seals and gaskets were installed. In addition, I installed a Mopar Purple Camshaft 280/280 deg and .474/.474 inch lift (P4452993). Milling the heads pushed the compression ratio up to ~9.25:1 so it runs very well on 92 premium. Factory intake, ’71 HP exhaust manifolds, and’71 Carter AVS 4 barrel carburetor. Converted to Mopar electronic ignition with re-curved distributor as well so no points and better spark timing curve. TRANSMISSION: The numbers matching HD 727 transmission was recently rebuilt with new frictions & separator plates, seals, thrust washers, and a street/strip shift kit. Shift is firm and quick. The original torque converter was an 11 inch which was swapped with a higher stall 10 inch converter. The 10 inch converter idles and stalls much better compared to the 11 inch so it drives great and performs like a muscle car should. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk compartment is solid. Includes new trunk liner, jack assembly, a spare 15x6.5” rallye wheel (currently no tire mounted), and one NOS ’71 center cap as pictured.UNDERSIDE: The front end was rebuilt with all new Moog ball joints and tie rod ends along with upper and lower control arm and sway bar bushings (all polyurethane). The shocks were all replaced when the suspension was done. Swapped the front rotors and spindles with ‘73/’74 E-body (improved one-piece rotors vs 2-piece rotors), calipers, and pads. Dual exhaust with the correct exhaust tips.What could be improved – Door glass has some fairly minor scratches that I think could be polished out. Seal/strips between rear passenger window and driver door window should be replaced as they have some chunking. Could use some touch-up and detailing in the engine compartment as well.I have provided a significant summary and description of the GTX but can’t provide every detail here. The car is available for inspection and I recommend you look at it personally or hire someone to inspect it for you. If you can’t have that done, ask questions and request more pictures.
