CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
VEHICLE DESCRIPTIONThis is “Ivy”, my pride & joy of the past 8 plus years. Born originally in San Jose Ca, it is and always has been, a “West Coast” car. The purchase and restoration process began in June of 2012 with 53,742 showing on the odometer.Restoration was completed one year later, in June of 2013, with 54,154 miles showing. I have driven Ivy regularly from that time until now. The odometer currently shows 61,289. The last service (lube, oil & filter) was at 60,255 miles using AMSOIL Z-Rod, 10w-30 full-synthetic, zinc-rich oil.I am not going to post an exhaustive list of features and equipment as it would be boring, quite lengthy (even longer than this!) and no one would take the time to read the whole thing anyway. The pictures really do not do the car justice and I would be glad to elaborate upon request.Suffice to say, everything works as intended, everything, even the clock in the Rally Pac. The 225 HP 289 was rebuilt professionally shortly before I bought the car. It is normally aspirated and maintains a period correct Autolite 4100 4bbl carburetor (manual choke conversion) which was professionally re-built and adjusted. She starts first time, every time and runs smoothly through all the gears.Decoding of the original data plate demonstrates how she was originally equipped from the Ford factory in San Jose. I made a real effort to restore the car to its original stock condition, while making some modifications for safety, such as the Wilwood Disc Brakes up front, a dual-reservoir master cylinder and balancing valve. Wherever possible, I cleaned, polished and reinstalled original parts, which can be seen in the natural patina and minor pitting of chrome. Some parts, such as the bumpers, were too far gone and had to be replaced with top-quality restoration parts. It has manual steering (16:1 ratio vs. the stock 12:1) and manual brakes (front disc, rear drum). The air conditioning is after-mark, designed by Classic Auto Air specifically for ’65 Mustang. I had new dual exhaust installed with DynaFlow, free flow mufflers (mellow, not loud). It has “cast” high-performance exhaust manifolds. They are reproductions of the ones that were available as a bolt-on option, back in the day. The tires were new when restored and only have about 7,000 miles on them, but they are now 8 years old. Wheels are 15-inch Scott Drake reproductions. The exterior color is Dark Ivy Green Metallic (original color, not original paint) and the interior is Light Ivy Gold (also the original color scheme). While the car was originally equipped with a 4-speed transmission, I installed a Tremic T-5, 5-Speed manual transmission with a replica “T-handle” shifter. There was no cutting involved. I still have the original tranny, bell housing, flex plate and shift linkage, so the original 4-speed could be re-installed if one wanted to do that. The T-5 provides for a highway-gear that allows you to cruise at 65 or 70 MPH while the tachometer registers between 1,800 and 2,000 RPM.I am not desperate to sell this car and have done my best to describe it accurately. The car has always been garaged for as long as I have owned it. While reasonable offers will be considered, low-ball offers will be ignored. International Buyers welcome and I am prepared to assist in the coordination of shipping, however, shipping cost is at Buyer's expense.Thank you, and please do not hesitate to ask questions. I am happy to answer questions and provide additional pictures or video upon request. [email protected],Tim
