1978 Mercedes 300 CD This vehicle has only had only 3 Owners since new.It comes with years of receipts all the way back to the original owner and you will see receipts from the last owner that date back 16 years to 2004. It has been garage kept it's entire life.This car runs and drives excellent hot or cold and the temp stays cool even on hot Houston days. It is very quite for a diesel. The transmission shifts as if it were new. The transmission has had a recent oil change.The wheels were recently refinished and a new set of matching tires were installed within the last 10 miles.The seats are wearing the original parchment seat covers in MB tex but have had the padding replaced professionally, which makes them almost as new. There are two small cracks on the drivers bolster that I am told have been there for a number of years. (see photo)The carpets and headliner were replaced within the last year so the interior is really very nice. The door pockets were also replaced The only detriments to the interior are cracks in the dash pad which are covered with a custom cover and the wood around the power window switches needs replacement. The rest of the wood is very nice as you can see in the photos.The original factory radio was sent off and refurbished approx 18 months ago and plays great on AM or FM. The power antenna works as it should and retracts when the ignition or power is off.The body appears to be 99% rust free and shows no signs of rustor rust repairs. The paint is extremely nice for it's age and it is in it's original color of 525G which is "brilliant Red Metallic" which turns out to be a very hard color to photograph, as it changes color depending on the light. I did find a couple of very small chips, about the size of a pen point, you have to be looking for them and there is some rash down the drivers door edge, I couldn't add any more photos to the ebay listing.The A/c blows cold and the heater works by manually opening a valve under the hood as the vacuum system has been bypassed.The hood pad is new,The front power windows work as they should but the right rear is slow and the left rear has stopped working, this is usually from non use.It is located in Huffman Texas 77336 and an inspection by you or your representative is welcome, just contact me thru the "ask seller a question" link on the ebay listing.I can get shipping quotes world wide so send me your zip code if you are in the USA or the nearest port if you are out of the country.This is a great driving car that requires very little maintenance, gets lots of thumbs up, near 26 mpg and it's built like a small tank.
