CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
About this vehicle This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427 L36 is a restomod with updates to the drivetrain. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller's Notes shipping arrangements can be made, if you’re not local/within driving distance of Southern NJ. Exterior Overall a nice, presentable body and paint job. It was painted in early 2000’s when the previous owner had it. This is a car for the guy who wants to drive his cars.....great for local shows, car cruises and using often. My father thought he wanted a classic corvette, so I found him this one. We did a ton of work to the car, to make it everyday drivable and 100% reliable for him......as he’s not mechanical at all. It turns out, he’s not enjoying it as much as he (and I) had hoped. So, whoever buys this car can take advantage of all the mechanical upgrades we put into it. Interior Originally, this car was black with red interior. My father wanted tan, so we installed a tan leather interior. We added Vintage Air, a factory Corvette tilt/telescopic steering column and a factory looking, Bluetooth capable stereo.....with Kenwood dash speakers and 6x9’s in the rear compartment. Everything in the interior is brand new.....even the tan headliner on the hard top. This is a hard top only car.....no soft top. Engine The engine and engine bay received the most work, as we wanted to make this car 100% reliable in the summer heat. If you know big block Corvettes, you understand they don’t like to run well, in the dead of summer. I equipped this car with a freshly rebuilt original 427. We built it to compliment the Holley Sniper EFI, so it has a hydraulic roller cam and a Weiand single plane intake that works the best with the efi. We installed a Dewitt’s aluminum radiator with dual fans, which one comes on at 190 degrees and the second comes on when the AC is turned on. I made sure the radiator was completely sealed to the support, to help improve cooling as much as possible. I’ve had this car in 100 degree weather, driving with the windows up and AC on.....cool as a cucumber. We also installed a Vintage Air front runner serpentine belt system, to do away with all the v belts, and update the power steering pump, and house the AC compressor. We upgraded this car to have power brakes and power steering via an actual power steering box by Borgeson. We used all stainless steel fittings and thermostat housing, restored the factory distributor and upgraded to electronic ignition. The engine was painted with Sikkens epoxy primer and Sikkens single stage paint......to offer a much higher quality finish and provide the longevity, that these cars need. Everything pertaining to the mechanical aspects of this car have been replaced, restored or upgraded. This car is as reliable as any daily driver out there. After doing all this work, I drove it back and forth to work just about everyday, for 3-400 miles....to ensure my father had a problem free car. This car is perfect for the guy who isn’t concerned with 100% originality, but wants a car to cruise with his wife, take it out to dinner or even drive back and forth to work.
