This is a 1938 Austin Banham that has been heavily modified into a very fast, little, chopped, pickup body. This Austin Bantam is one-of-a-kind! There is no other Austin Bantam known in the world to be like it!Right hand drive.Awesome to take to hotrod shows! You get tons of lookers who want to know everything about it. Not much to left to do to finish it up.This car mod was headlined in 'Rolls and Pleats' Hot Rod magazine, Q1 2006. (A copy of that magazine is included with vehicle purchase) I have included photos of the magazine in this ad.The main body and bed needs TLC and some touch up paint, however we decided not to because you may want to do something completely different. No sense in wasting money painting, when you want it painted blue.I have included a couple YouTube links to see videos of the car running, etc.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TQQpNootFM -- Engine runninghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSiCJhRy_Ms -- Explanation of rear-end rework done recently. We fully rewired the car front to back, reengineered the front and rear end for smoother and stable driving. We moved the radiator from the back of the car up front with the new Ford 5.0 Mustang radiator. The front grill is a 1932 Ford model BB grill and shroud. The engine is a 1978 Toyota 22R with a Weber two barrel Carb, five speed Toyota transmission, and a Ford 9 inch rear end. In the magazine article the original builder explains many of the things he did to build this car.We modified the front end for the 1932 Ford model BB grill and shroud, but we still have, and will include, the original 1960s adjustable cantilever transversal front leaf spring from an early 60s front engine rail dragster. This unit is shown in the magazine pictures and laying on the floor in front of the hot rod in one of the pictures included below.Odometer has never been connected due to transmission, differential, and tire size makes accuracy imposable. We use a cell phone for speedometer, or you could buy a GPS speedometer/mileage tracker. Both options work well. I use Google maps that now shows vehicle speed. I would make and install a large, removable, 8 inch deep, stainless steal pan, or set of pans made to fit as a trunk under the trunk lid. That would look nice and carry a lot of stuff. If you weld and shape it yourself, you could make a couple very deep pans for tons of stuff. Lots of room to tinker for such a small hotrod!$17,500.00 Or best offer. Deposit is non-refundable.
