CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1964 Corvette Convertible 327, 4-speed, 4-wheel disc brakes Just about every single part on this car is brand new or freshly rebuilt based upon a nut and bolt, frame-off restoration that was done between 1918 and 2020. Daytona Blue exterior color agrees with the Trim Tag (Body: 915AA) as does the original interior colors of white and blue (Trim: 491GE). I think the car was repainted a few years back. 1965 327 engine (3782870 casting), engine block is dated in late 1964 (model year 1965) and is configured as 327/300 hp with correct Carter AFB carb and intake manifold (casting 3844459), with new and correct fuel lines, dual snorkel air cleaner assembly, fuel filter, crankcase vent tube, thermostat housing, oil filler tube and PCV valve and hose assembly. Correct cylinder heads (casting 8782461). Firewall mounted Accelerator Lever is original and unique to the 327/300 hp engine. Exhaust manifolds are the larger 2.5” used on the 300 hp motor when equipped with the 4-speed (while automatics had to settle for 2”) and appears to be the correct castings (passenger side: 3797902 and drive side: 3846563, as best I can make out). New clutch pressure plate, clutch disc and throw-out bearing. The freshly resurfaced flywheel was balanced, along with the pressure plate assembly, by West Coast Balancing in Santa Ana, CA. The driveshaft assembly has newly installed U-joints and the assembly was balanced by Drivelines in Mission Viejo, CA. 1964 4-speed Muncie trans (has the original partial vin number stamping on the side of the trans) with fresh oil seals and correct bellhousing (casting 3858403). Hidden Hurst shift linkage with original factory stock appearing chrome shifter handle. 1967 differential carrier Positraction unit with 3:55 gears and correct axle cover housing (casting 3830308) with a new pinion seal and side yoke bearing seals. Arizona 1966 Corvette frame that appears to be in really nice and rust free condition that I purchased from a guy in Phoenix that had a Corvette shop at one time and who had in turn purchased it from a Tucson seller. New body mount bolts, spacers, rubber donuts and shims. 1964 (and 1963) inner rear center tunnel body mount tabs welded on. New brake and fuel lines. New brake hoses, brake booster and master cylinder. New Rear Suspension Arm assemblies with new hubs, rear disc brake components and bearings. New shocks. New rear spring assembly and mount. New half-shaft assemblies with new U-joints. New steering box seals with newly rebuilt steering relay rod and new damper shock. Newly rebuilt front A Arm assemblies (with new bushings, ball joints and control arm shafts). New front springs and shocks. New tie rod ends and tie rod tubes. New idler arm. New (as of 2020) white wall tires and wheels (15 X 5.5” wide, as they were originally). Fully 90% of 1964 Corvettes were sold new with whitewall tires. All new underbody metal brackets: seatbelt anchor brackets, body mount reinforcements and brackets, seat mounting reinforcement plates, shift boot reinforcement, inner rear center tunnel body mounts --unique to 1963 and 1964 models, inner and outer splash shields and underbody tunnel insulator retainers as well as insulation. New factory correct 2.5” exhaust head pipes, tail pipes, mufflers and correct mounting brackets. Freshly rebuilt radiator core assembly, new heater core and rebuilt heater box assembly with new seals and all heater (and cooling) hoses and clamps are new. Interior fresh air vent assemblies were rebuilt and have new seals in them. Rebuilt front headlamp assemblies (though the right headlamp cover is a bit slow) All new carpets with the correct carpet underlayment/insulation New fuel filler door assembly, bezel and fuel filler neck boot. New firewall insulation and under dash sound deadener. Hidden MSD box (located underneath the passenger side front inner fender well, behind the expansion tank) with MSD electronic cable driven tach-drive distributor with original style distributor cap and new, original style sparkplug wires. New front grill assembly and parking lamp assemblies. New rear tail light assemblies. New exterior mirror and door handles. New “birdcage” metal lower rocker channel sleeves, freshly fabricated rear metal boxes (for body mount access in front of rear wheels) and all new rocker panel support brackets welded in place. Brand new, factory correct, complete electrical wiring harness (and fuse box assembly) throughout the car along with a new alternator, regulator and horn relay. Brand new antenna assembly, antenna mount, antenna ground cable and brackets. New parking brake cable assembly with factory correct and refurbished parking brake cable bracket, rod, spring, cable equalizer and parking brake cable lever. 4-wheel disc brakes include a front disc brake conversion kit installed by a former owner and rear factory correct 1965/1966 disc brakes with disc brake style (1965/1966) new rear trailing arm assemblies. Brakes were converted to separate front and rear circuits with a 1967 model power brake vacuum booster and dual reservoir master cylinder. The horn needs work. The body contains a small paint blemish on top of the driver side fender (see picture). The rear bottom corner of the convertible top has a small cut between the plastic window edge and the bottom of the top material (see picture). The windshield wipers work great but the windshield washer pump needs attention. The “new” water temperature gauge doesn’t work even though I replaced the water temperature sensor with the factory correct one. California Title and two freshly refurbished California Black Plates that stay with the car. I’ll sign a DMV release on the plates. Thank you in advance but I don’t need help selling, listing, consigning or anything else. Please contact me only if you are sincerely interested in purchasing the car. Lets not waste each other’s time. $55K Price is Firm, Tim 949-680-7640
