CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1960 Cadillac Eldorado. Condition is "Used". Description:This is a 60 Biarritz that I've had for over 20 years. I never tagged it. It's always been kept in a heated garage. It is in the same condition when I bought it other than the new tires and battery. It was bought as a group of 12 cars here on Ebay. Keep your eyes on my Items as there was also a 60 Brougham, chassis 41 that I will be listing later. It was my intent to restore four of the Cadillacs that where in the group but as time has gone on I've come to realize I'm not going to get to all of them. This is a rare example of a mostly complete and original car. All of the Biarritz trim is there and in good shape. Most of the Eldorado extras are also there. The price of the car is not much more than you would pay for the items that make up an Eldorado Biarittz if you could find them at all, parade boot, complete tri-power system, TRIM, AC system, unique interior parts and pieces, 6 way power seat, door lock systems, power wing windows, hub caps, etc. The only history I know is that the previous owner collected 59 and 60 Caddy's and he passed away. His widow didn't sell off the collection for about 10 years after he passed so the car has been static for the last 30+ years, maybe longer as there was no tag on it when I got it and one on the group did have a current tag as it was being driven. I have a clean title in my name. The good:The body is in very restorable shape. I don't see any rust through on the exterior panels, the paint is failing and the previous owner sprayed primer on some areas where the paint had come off. The under side does have some rust. I didn't spend a lot of time under the car but i did see a hole on the inner rocker of the passenger side, oddly, you can see the back side of the outer rocker panel and it looks good. The car had a heavy under coating applied and it hides the metal surface. It also can hold water under it. To be fair to the buyer, you should plan on some panel repairs, but the car is in great shape for an unrestored unit.As stated, all the Biarritz trim is complete and in good shape, inside and outside. The convertible top is in good shape except the back plastic glass, the bows and structure are all looking good with no visible rust but the motor is froze so I can get it down for a full inspection but I'm sure its OK.The bumpers and other chrome pieces will need attention that could range from a good rubbing to a dip in the chrome tank. The following items are there and appear to be complete, Head light dimmer system. I did turn on the headlights and the auto dimmer kicked them down to low beam but I couldn't get them to go back to high beam by the foot switch so something is happening there but what is beyond my scope of knowledge. Trunk draw down feature and electric opener are there but I can't get the trunk open, I don't know if the lock is frozen or the key is missing but I can't turn the lock, The electric opener has seized over the last 10 years as I used to be able to get in that way. I have removed the screws for the lock going through the back seat but I still couldn't get it open and I couldn't get a lock smith to come pick the lock so that will be an issue. The power seats, tri-power and air cleaner, parade boot, horns , door lock systems all appear to be there and complete.I put four new tires on as the old ones were way gone from sitting so long and wouldn't hold air. I also but in a new battery. I did drain the tank and add new gas and battery and it fired up. The car was moved out of the garage for the pictures, see brake description below. The AC system is there including the center air duct under the dash. The missing:While the cruise control unit is there, the speedometer cables have been unplugged and the linkage to control the carbs is gone. The car has been converted to coil springs and the air ride pump is gone,(no great loss in my mind). I did see some of the hardware for it under the car when I put the tires on. The bad:The original hub caps are there but will need to be restored, mostly dents around the perimeter from rubber mallets. I did have the correct wheel weights put on this time to allow the caps to seat properly but that wasn't the case on the previous set and probably several sets of tires before that.A stated previously, the rust. Brakes: they are not working. I used the emergency brake to get it out of the garage for photos and its sketchy. PLEASE keep this in mind when considering your method of transport!!!! The car should be considered non operable for these purposes. The plastic back glass is way past it but the rest of the top is in really good shape.Dash pad has cracks, see picture. The drivers side wing window is cracked and open and the motor doesn't work. I'll cover it with plastic and tape for transport. I think I have a piece of glass for it that I'll throw in. The passenger side rear quarter window frame has the usual crack in the bottom of the frame. There is a dent in the top of the right front fender as shown in the pics. Nothing that won't tap back out.Trunk issue as previously stated. The leather is cracking on the seats. Please note that one of the "buttons" on the passenger side of the front seat is off but it is placed near where it goes in the picture so you can retain the originality. Lots of oil leaks as the seals are all 60 years old .The odometer reads 01606 and I would guess 101606 is the mileage or close to it.Feel free to contact me with any questions .Mike 816-805-1883. I'm more than happy to schedule viewing appointments by you or your designee. I will assist your transport any way I can. Be advised that these cars will not fit in most enclosed single car haulers/trailers without raising the floor about 10 inches to get width over the wheel wells in side the trailer. I can deliver to the lower 48 for a fee, we can discuss that during the process. It won't be as cheap as a service but it may be worth it considering the condition of the car. I will not deliver until payment has been complete! Payment can be by wire or cash. A $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE deposit VIA paypal is required if you want me to pull the add. I don't play games and neither should you....
