| About this vehicle This 1955 Oldsmobile Delta 88 is an original with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 4 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller's Notes Runs great...smooth running cruiser! Vehicle Details 1955 Olds Delta 88, two door hardtop, New AC, excellent highway Cruiser. This updated car is a great highway cruiser with an ice-cold air conditioner. The upgraded 400cu in engine is from a 442, with a mild cam, Rhodes Lifters, Offenhauser aluminum intake, and a Holley carb. The engine is a good solid street car, not a radical race engine. It has a nice mellow sounding dual exhaust with a slight lope at idle. A strong Turbo 400 Trans with trans cooler shifts solid. It has airshocks, new tires, new upholstered seats, new headliner, new carpet, and a new Vintage Air Conditioner to ensure a comfortable ride. The new exterior paint matches the original paint on the interior. The custom louvers on the hood help keep the strong engine cool on those long trips. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. As with most antique cars, this one still has some open issues. The front and rearwindshields have been replaced, but all the side windows are original. The glass is in good shape, though they are aged. The doors and side windows allneed new seals/moldings. The all original gauges work, but the gas tank pick-up is too short and needs to be replaced. It does not have power steering. The brakes are solid. We are not the original owners, but the car is rebuilt and modified. Mileage is estimated. Adult driven occasionally for shows, etc. We bought it in 2016 and the odometer said 42,000, but realistically we know it had turned at least once. Low mileage on rebuilt engine and trans.
