1972 Ford Bronco customHIGHLIGHTSThe idea behind the Bronco began in the early 1960s, and the final approval came from Lee Iacocca before production began in early 1964. The Bronco was designed to combat the popular Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout models. Originally designed with its own frame, the Bronco sold well before SUVs became more popular thanks to their on- and off-road capabilities heading into the mid- to late-70s. This 1972 Ford Bronco was built from the frame up by Gateway Bronco in Hamel, Illinois. Aftermarket touches include a powder-coated frame and a Raptor Liner-lined undercarriage. The body of this Ford Bronco was stripped to bare metal before being refinished in an eye-catching Candy Apple Red paint. Exterior options include black impact bumpers with a built-in winch on the front unit and a spare tire mounted on the rear, a color-matched hardtop featuring suede lining and power retractable side steps, and an accessory rack with space for a cooler and a gas can allows for more room inside on those long off-road trips. The interior of this Gateway Bronco is finished with matching Candy Apple Red accents and features Porsche high-back leather seats with suede inserts, an Alpine stereo system, three-point seatbelts, a family roll bar, wool carpet throughout and a new steering column mounted with a wood-grain steering wheel. Power options include power windows with vintage handles and air conditioning. Powering this beautifully outfitted 1972 Ford Bronco is a 5.0L V-8 engine featuring aluminum heads, electronic fuel injection, a ceramic-coated stainless exhaust system and new heat shielding. The formidable V-8 powerplant is fully capable of getting you across any terrain, and it’s run through its paces by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Power is funneled to the wheels through a 9-inch rear end and a Dana front differential. Other suspension and powertrain options feature a Bilstein 2-inch aluminum body lift, front and rear sway bars and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes with Hydroboost. |
