The legend first became popular in the 1930’s when numerous race-prepped MG’s found their way to the grid of numerous hill climbs, grand prix’s, and the 24 hours of LeMans. In 1936, a 4-cylinder 2-seater pedestrian version of these were unveiled to the masses as the MG T-series cars. The first two versions, the TA and TB had some success, but came to an abrupt halt with World War II. Even though these joyful two-seaters didn’t have a large production total, they left a significant impact on US troops stationed in the UK during the war. The impact was so large, that when MG restarted production of the T-series cars in 1945, hundreds upon hundreds of those US troops purchased the new MG TC and had them shipped stateside. This was the beginning of something much larger than the little MG, as over the next decade, the US received an onslaught of new European sports cars. The stateside importing of new MG’s continued throughout the life-span of the T-series until 1955. In the same year, the next era of MG began, as the company unveiled the all-new MGA roadster. The MGA gave way to more power, a new chassis, and sleek new bodywork to stay afloat with its other European competitors. After great success with just over 100,000 produced, the MG B was then introduced in 1962. The MG B picked up right where the MGA left off, as the car was an instant sales hit. Over the next 18 years, MG turned out over 500,000 B-series cars, making the MGB one of the most successful sports cars ever made! One reason why MG did so well is that they stayed true to their form, never turning their back on the compact, 4-cylinder, 2 seat package. This example, in Flamenco Red, was originally delivered to its first owner in Novato, CA. An original invoice is included showing the original purchase price of $5,970 in July 1977. Believed to be with the same owner through 2008 with 41k miles and sold to the second owner in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The vehicle was sparingly driven and eventually traded in and sold to its third owner in July 2014 with 42,965 miles in Rio Verde, AZ. Vehicle remained was sold in January 2016 to another AZ resident who moved to Indianapolis and brought the vehicle with him and sold to a friend later in 2016. Vehicle currently shows 44,105 miles and is ready for a new owner. Mileage believed to be accurate. Previous owner erroneously selected 'mileage in excess of mechanical limits'. Have records showing mileage should be considered accurate._______________________ To arrange an appointment to view the vehicle, please contact or call 317-522-8260._______________________ Please consider this an invitation to visit MOTORVAULT!
