CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
This 1961 Falcon Ranchero “Roller” is a true survivor that has held up surprisingly well. The floor pan and toe panels are solid and rot free. The doors and door jambs are solid and rot free, the bed and tailgate are solid and rot free as well. The inner and outer rocker panels are clean, solid and rot free. The subframe is clean, straight and rot free. The entire bottom side of the bed and floor pans is in way better condition than you would imagine. Structurally this Ranchero appears 100% solid. Over all I would rate it 96% or better rust free. There is some rust through on the bottom of the passenger side front fender and a little bit above the rear wheel well and bottom of the quarter panel just behind the wheel well but in my opinion this Ranchero does not need any major body work or panel replacement making this a very viable project even for a hobbyist with limited tools and experience. It does have some bumps and bruises, dings and small dents but after all it is 60 years old. The bumpers are clean and straight and in good driver quality condition as is the original grille. The glass is clean and clear driver quality with no cracks, milkiness or separation of the laminate but the windshield does have a few stone chips and some pitting but there are no cracks or breaks. Both door windows roll up and down with ease. The stainless trim around the windshield has some minor dings but could easily be finessed to a nice driver quality level. It has good tires on 14-inch 4 lug rims and includes a spare. The stock manual drum brakes were redone and seem to be in good working order. The original wiring is intact and appears unmolested with all lights working prior to the removal of the motor and transmission earlier this year. It was, as most were, a 6-cylinder 3 speed on the column. The dash is bone stock and undamaged with its original gauge cluster showing 84K miles. It also has its stock AM radio. Even the bake-o-lite dash knobs are still intact and in nice condition. The seat is original to the vehicle and obviously needs to be recovered but the springs and frame are in good condition. The headliner is gone but the bows are still in place. The transmission crossmember is in place but the driveshaft was sold with the motor and transmission. This Ranchero does have a clean, clear title so transferring it in any state should be a snap. I believe it to have only one repaint under the primer (white) with the original color being a school bus yellow, indicating it may have started life as a county maintenance vehicle. Also included is a V-8 aluminum radiator and front disc brake suspension from a ‘65 Falcon wagon as well as a few miscellaneous parts seen in the photos. If you've been waiting for the perfect Ranchero project then you’d be hard pressed to find a more solid and suitable platform than this one offers. Especially at this price.
