CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
 (866) 722-4691 1234567of7 1946 Lincoln V12 Continental for sale! Stock #: 0718 Exterior Color: Gray Interior Color: Gray Body Type: Convertible Transmission: Manual 3-Speed Engine: V12 3.9L Mileage: 99,999 Originally conceived as a personal concept car for Edsel Ford, the streamlined, more Art Deco styling of Edsels Continental version of the Lincoln-Zephyr proved so popular that the decision was quickly made to produce the car. Starting in 1939, the Continental was put into production with just 24 hand-built versions, followed in 1940 by 400 more examples with labor-intensive, hand hammer-formed bodies. On the outside, the Continental was 7-inches lower than the Zephyr, with no running boards and a minimum of chrome trim to detract from the overall styling. Under the skin, the Continental was much the same as the Lincoln-Zephyr, featuring an enlarged 292 CI V-12 engine that fed 125 HP through a 3-speed manual transmission, all housed in a conventional frame that was suspended by front and rear transverse leaf springs and stopped by hydraulic drum brakes on all four corners. While production ceased from 1943-46 because of World War II, the 1946 model was re-launched with an improved and more powerful V-12 engine and subtle styling changes such as a new, two-tier egg-crate grille. Among its many honors that year, the 1946 Continental was selected as the official pace car for the first postwar running of the famed Indianapolis 500, where Henry Ford II himself drove the pace lap. For 1946, the Continental was offered as either a two-door coupe or two-door cabriolet, with 265 coupes being built and 201 cabriolets. The example on offer is a 1946 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet, that is under restoration. The body is very solid. The V12 engine and 3 speed, overdrive, transmission are out of the car but come with it. This will make a nice driver car or street rod. I will be posting more photos as what we do continues. As it sits right now you can own this classic for only $7,500 (REDUCED DOWN FROM $8,500) which I feel is very fair for a vehicle like this one with the potential that this vehicle has. We offer a 90 day lay away on many of our vehicles. Just break the cost of the vehicle into 4 equal payments 30 days apart and then you can take possession of the vehicle.
