Unfortunately it is time for me to clear out some projects as I have a rather sudden and unplanned for move approaching. One of the projects that I simply can't justify bringing is my 79' Porsche 911sc Cab. History: This car lived its life in central California, so there is no sign of rot or rust on the usual suspects. Yes, this is a "Conversion"/"Chop Top", however it can be returned to being a Targa top rather easily if so desired. The conversion was done in the early to mid 90's in Los Angeles using OEM 911 Cabriolet parts. The car was resprayed red at the same time and the whale tail spoiler/rock guards were fitted. I found this car sitting in a covered car port, ran when parked, however the car sat for 7-8 years. No additional documents/paperwork for this vehicle, just a California Title. Exterior: Surprisingly straight body with the usual signs of wear from a 41 year old car. The respray was not done very well and lacks a clear coat sheen, however its fully acceptable as a drivers car. Spoilers in great condition, all hatches operate perfectly, the staggered Fuchs are holding up beautifully and are accompanied by new tires with about 50 feet on them. The top will need to be replaced (if you decide to keep it a cabriolet), fortunately there are aftermarket replacements readily available. Interior: Sport seats, will need some love as the adjustment knobs are stiff. Drivers seat is disconnected from the floor for those who are keen to see the floor pans. Missing carpet and some small trim bits and bops. Electrics function, ignition is smooth and steering feels solid. Pedals hold pressure. Mechanical: Fresh oil flush using OEM Porsche classic fluid and filter. Whilst sitting with the PO, the car had a new distributor, cap, rotor, and plugs fitted. New battery. I had the car running very briefly about 3 months ago, however the fuel line that exits the pump sprung a large leak. Pump engages strong, transmission is free and clear, all fluid reservoirs don't leak. The vehicle hasn't been on the road for years so it will need a good round of maintenance. I also have the original spare that will be included, as with the original smog equipment and some random carpet/trim pieces. This is likely the cheapest complete 911sc in the US right now, so please do not make insulting offers. Im quite firm on price, however I have some light flexibility. The car will need to be trailered away, I can help recommend some reliable sources to do so if needed. If you would like any more information or photos, please message me, I am happy to answer any and all. As the car continues to sit, I may replace the fuel line that leaks and get it running again. If that happens, the price will increase to reflect that. |
