This is a very well preserved 1967 Porsche 911 which has been owned by our client for the past 10 years, who is the 3rd owner. He has been a longtime member of the Classic Car Club of America and have enjoyed a beautiful collection of important cars. With the exception of a repaint, this 911 is completely original and a survivor. This 911 has spent much of its early life in and around Wisconsin. In the early 90's, the second owner (names have been kept private at the seller's request) purchased the car and enjoyed it for spirited driving on fair weather days. The second owner and current owner are longtime friends, and in 2010, ownership was transferred to it's 3rd and current owner just outside of Chicago. Today, this 911 has 98,000 original miles. The Sand Beige Metallic Paint (6607) is the original color, however this 911 was repainted by the previous owner. In full transparency, the repaint is of poor quality. Any avid Porsche collector will want to have the car repainted properly. Since arriving in Illinois, this 911 has been very well cared for and driven very little over the last 10 years. Interestingly, this is one of the very few 911's to come with dealer installed factory headrests and ski rack. These very rare OEM parts, along with the Sand Beige color make this Porsche a very unusual, though very cool 911. Further speaking to the originality of the car, the hood emblem and rear deckled lettering are original, parts which have been known to sell for upwards of $1000 alone! Likewise, the outstanding originality of the interior is worth noting and will be touched on more shortly. This 911 has been very well maintained and preserved. Though certainly more of a drivers quality, rather than show car, this Porsche would benefit greatly from a proper paint job. A close examination of the photos will show there are several spots of bubbling under the paint and orange peel is present. However, with matching numbers and all original components, this 911 has a very solid foundation ripe for restoration. Or it can simply be enjoyed as an accident and rust free survivor. Beyond the paint, the body and exterior aesthetics of this 911 are very nice. The badges and lettering are clear, all body panels line up properly, and the chrome and glasswork are in excellent shape. The bumpers and their inserts are correct and original. Likewise all lighting components are clear, clean, and function properly. The roof rack is believed to be OEM, and was very likely a dealer installed option. The rack's chrome frame and wooden slats are in excellent shape and give the car a very Euro sporting look to it. We're big fans! The interior is overall very well preserved. The attractive white or cream leather with black carpet and dash are tasteful and without any cracks or abrasion. The dash, door panels and headliner are overall very good. The front leather seats are without rips or stains and remain soft and supple. Nearly all interior components work as they should, including all instrumentation. You will, however, notice two aftermarket speakers mounted in the driver and passenger footwell. The 2.0L air-cooled flat 6 cylinder engine made 160hp for the 1967 model year, and this particular 911 has no problem enjoying every bit of it. In typical Porsche fashion, the power delivery is smooth and effortless, meanwhile the transmission shifts and operators as it should. The overall mechanical condition of this 911 is very good. At one point there was a dual aftermarket exhaust on the car (see photos with roof rack). The original exhaust has been reinstalled, however the dual kit does come with the car. The chassis shows that it is rust free (with minimal normal surface rust present). Nonetheless, it is in nice condition today for touring and general use.
