Paint is a B quality respray in black. Paint shows some light surface scratches, particularly on the fenders, and would benefit from a good buffing. Original color is unknown, as the trim tag is not present on the firewall. There are little spots of yellow visible inside the driver’s door jamb, which would indicate that the car was at once yellow. Body is very nice and straight; there are a couple minor door dings on the passenger side, but no bubbling or waviness indicative of glaring body filler. Lower corners are nice and smooth, with no rust. Hood pins have been added. Chrome is really nice throughout; front bumper just shows some light surface scratches, rear bumper is excellent, polished trim pieces are free of oxidation or damage. Glass is all nice and clear, and there is a nick/hairline crack at the very top corner on the passenger side of the windshield. Passenger front steel wheel has a dent on the outer lip, which is covered by the polished trim ring. Hubcaps are in excellent shape but one of the four is missing. Goodyear tires are definitely due for replacement, but show no dry cracking or flat spots. Panel fitment is good, doors open and close nice and smoothly. The Interior: Please defer to the photos for a close look. Interior looks pretty good but there is still some finishing to be done. Carpet should be replaced, as it is old and discolored. Passenger seat is not fixed in place, just sitting atop the floor. Door sill is off on the passenger side and it will come with the car. Passenger door panel is not fixed in place, and the armrest is not mounted but will come with the car. Dash pad is in great shape, no cracks, adhesive marks, or damage. Dash looks good, nothing more than minor wear from the driver’s perspective. Sunvisors are firm and hold their position, headliner is clean and tight. Light scratches on the center console, nothing significant. Gauges are nice and clear, not scratched-up or tired looking. Odometer reads 10,491 miles, actual chassis mileage is known. Engine is of course not original – this car runs a 454 rather than a 396, date-coded from 1973. Gauges are functional with the exception of the analog clock. Autogage gauges have also been added below the dash. Radio is functional, a non-original Jensen head unit. Fan is good, factory R12 air conditioning components are present but air does not actually blow cold. Lights are good, but only driver’s side turn signals work. This car does have power windows but they are not currently functional, same with the power locks. Powered driver’s seat is functional however. With the power windows, locks, seat, and AC, this was a very well-optioned car. Under the Hood/Underbody: Please take a look through the underbody photos. Underbody looks quite good...really, really dry. There is evidence of a weld at the front right corner, where the frame rail meets the crossmember, though we cannot say for certain if this has to do with the issuance of the salvage title. No evidence of prior rust repair, floors look great. This car, while nearing completion, is what we would consider a running and driving project. It has been sitting for a few years and there will be a few to-dos in order for it to be a reliable driver. First off, the radiator needs to be replaced straightaway, as do the tires. We have only taken the car up the block a couple times due to the aforementioned, and can confirm that it does run strong, idle nice and steady, shift smoothly, and brake straight and effectively. The car will require some interior assembly, as well as the installation of badges, trim pieces, and trunk lock cylinder, all of which will come with the car. For additional information or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-273-8257.
