I purchased this JEEP in 2010 as a retirement project. It had been sitting outside in the elements for several years. This is not a restoration project. However 10 years later I'm still constantly making improvements to my project and could have purchased a restored Jeep for less than I have invested. We are planning on moving in the near future and have to downsize. My loss will be the buyer's gain!. Listed below are the improvements made and known faults on my project:REPAIRS & IMPROVEMENTS:Rebuilt Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 Transmission & Transfer CaseReplaced Body Mounting Kit-Tie Rods-Universal JointsReplaced Front Differential w/Hub Locking SystemReplaced Rear Differential Replaced Front & Rear Brake Rotors & Drums-Pads-Seals-BearingsInstalled SKYJACKER Steering Stabilizer KitInstalled New Factory ShocksReplaced Right Front Floor PanReplaced Gas Tank & Sending UnitReplaced Windshield Frame/Glass/Wiper Motor& Wiper BladesReplaced Tailgate-Dashboard-Gauges-Switches-Wiring Harness-Bulbs-Tail Lights-Marker Lights-Turn Signals/Parking LightsInstalled Center Locking Console w/BOSS 400W Marine AM/FM/CD Radio-Installed Adjustable Driver's Seat FrameReplaced Exterior Mirrors-Minor Rust Areas Repaired- Vehicle Painted BLACKInstalled NEW Federal 31X10.50R15 Mudder TiresInstalled Roll Bar Padding & Cover-Quick Detach HT Mounting System-Spare Tire Cover (Factory Spare P225/75R15)Installed Racing Headers-Replaced Coil/Distributor Cap/Plug Wires/Plugs/PVC Valve/Ignition Box/Windshield Fluid Reservoir/Battery/Solenoid Switch/Carburetor/Manual Choke/Installed Electric Fuel Pump/New BeltsInstalled Lap & Shoulder Seat Belt System/Replaced Steering Gear Assembly/Rear Main Engine Seal Replaced/Freeze Plugs Replaced/Replaced Starter/Alternator/All Hoses/Power Steering Pump/K&N Air Filter/Oil Breather Cap/Rear ShacklesKNOWN DEFECTS & FAULTS:Steering Column could use some work, there is no Shift Indicator, Horn, needs turn signal cam replaced (they work), Ignition Switch needs replaced (it works). I have the turn signal cam kit & ignition switch new in the box!I had the Dashboard plus Gauges etc. professionally installed. Everything worked perfectly except the right rear marker light & the windshield wiper indicator light (defective). Have replacement. This summer MUD DOBBERS built a nest underneath the dash panel causing a short. It blew a 15 amp gauge fuse. The Wipers, Radio, Indicator lights, gauges, switches, etc. don't work. The Headlights, Voltmeter, and Oil Pressure Gauges all work fine! The Fuel Gauge only displayed 1/2 full (with a full tank) I pulled the tank and replaced the new sending unit with another new sending unit, it still displayed the same. In the meantime I discovered that my New Factory Speedometer Cable was approximately 1" Short. Apparently when the rear shackles were installed it raised the frame to high to accommodate the speed cable and the Rear Factory Shocks. The rear shock mounting brackets had to be modified. The rear shocks stay fully extended.I ordered a new speedometer cluster thinking the fuel gauge was defective. Have new one in the box! This Jeep is not a Highway Vehicle, it's great for Local driving and Super OFF-ROAD!! The doors and windows function fine! The rubber has dry-rotted and needs replaced (doors). The engine is strong, does not use or leak oil! There is less than 100 miles on the transmission. I have all receipts for major work & parts. This Jeep is Registered as a VINTAGE VEHICLE in the State of Alabama. I have tried to cover everything I could think of concerning the Vehicle Condition. If you need any further Information, Please Ask!! Thanks!NOTE: TOW BAR Included-also numerous EXTRA Parts, new heater core, etc. |
