CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210. 1958 CHEVROLET BELAIR. A California car since new that is a very high-quality driver, set up for freeway cruising. It has Vintage Air conditioning, 700-R4 overdrive transmission, power front disc brakes, upgraded power steering and more. Lots of documented history. It is titled and registered in my name with original California yellow & black license plates (not reproduction plates). VIN: F58L192818 ENGINE: 350 GM 4bolt main crate engine that has less than 14k miles, receipt provided. Upgraded with Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Performer street cam, Edelbrock 625 cfm (#1406) carburetor and dual timing chain. TRANSMISSION: 700-R4 with less than 3k miles. Professionally rebuilt by Arcata Transmission Service with heavy duty clutch pack, Corvette servo and shift kit. DIFFERENTIAL & DRIVESHAFT: Stock, all rebuilt with new 3:08-1 gears. New universal joints and new center carrier bearing. BODY & PAINT: The body is rust free, very straight and smooth. A body magnet will stick evenly anywhere. It has been painted with PPG base coat/clear coats, color sanded and polished to a smooth high gloss. I have the paint formula and leftover paint for future touch-up if necessary. The underbody has not been detailed and still has the original undercoating that was applied when car was new. With the low mileage on the car since painting any minor blemishes in the paint are not obvious and certainly do not detract from the overall appearance. Car is always garaged. All the chrome, stainless trim and emblems are brilliant. The window and trunk rubber moldings as well as the window felt strips have been replaced. The wind wings and all windows operate properly. There is slight gray discoloration at the very bottom of the windshield but if you are not looking for it, it’s not noticeable. The locks on the doors and trunk all work. INTERIOR: All of the upholstery and carpet replaced within the last two years. Upholstery is vinyl. The steering wheel is a 1959 Impala 14 ½” reproduction. The panel under the dash is custom made. The speedometer and all gauges are accurate except the gas gauge that reads about ¾ when full and under ¼ near empty. TIRES, BRAKES, STEERING and SUSPENSION: All four tires on the ground replaced with new B.F. Goodrich Radial TA (less than 500 miles). All date codes are fresh, late in 2020. Front end alignment was done at this time. Car stops straight and true with no issues. Car was lowered 2”with new “Jamco” springs calibrated for a stock ride. KYB shock absorbers. Sway bars are installed front and rear. Power steering (605 box) is excellent with no leaks or issues. MISCELLANEOUS DETAILS: Safety items: The car has been rewired, including a modern fuse panel. Lights, turn signals, parking brake, horn, etc. are all operable. The brake lights and turn signals are upgraded with LED lights for added safety. New “Interstate” Battery - November 2020 Recent complete aluminized exhaust system that has Corvette ceramic coated manifolds and “Magnaflow” mufflers that have a nice mellow tone. Wheels are chromed 15” American Torque Thrust II. Car was manufactured at the Los Angeles Plant The license plates have not been restored or repainted. The original factory AM/FM radio has been replaced with a more modern but semi-original appearing unit. A ten-disc CD, amplifier and speakers are in the trunk. The mileage listed is the odometer reading at the time of this ad. RECENT SERVICE: Lube, oil and filter change. Transmission fluid and differential gear oil full and clean.
