About this vehicle This 1969 Chevrolet Blazer K5 is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller's Notes One of the rarest K5 Blazers in existence. Vehicle Details Rarest of the rare, if you know K5 Blazers then you know what a unicorn this is. The most original 1969 Blazer you will ever find. First year the Blazer was released. Only 4,935 were made to see if it could compete against the Bronco. 1969 was the only year they offered the GM color “light green”. This Blazer still has the original 307 engine and the original wheels! This was a two owner Blazer until I purchased it over a year ago. It had been sitting in a backyard storage barn for almost 20 years. The original owner was the Chevrolet Dealers Son, there are GM signed documents from the factory, original marketing books and original manuals etc... I’m certain these are some of the only ones still remaining. I spent 7 months and over $12k getting the Blazer running again. I had the original 307ci V8 pulled and professionally rebuilt as well as the transmission and differentials, I have the receipts and break down. I kept the original intake manifold, but had it replaced as well as the original carb. New steering components, new exhaust, complete new brake system, rebuilt radiator, new heater core, new fuel tank and much more. I replaced the carpet and seat vinyl with correct GM materials from SMS Auto Fabrics. The negatives... the paint is driver quality and what I call a “5-10 footer”. Looks great from a few feet away, but it is very old and shows age up close. Both doors have rust on the bottom edge. The radio doesn’t work, it’s the original and I didn’t want to replace it. The positives... This is probably the only 1969 Light Green K5 still around, again that color was only offered in 1969. The Blazer drives and handles incredibly, I have driven it on the highway 70-plus mph. No leaks, noises or smells. Starts up every time without hesitation. The body and frame are very straight and solid, it looks great and gets tons of attention. The interior is super clean, the SPID is still in place and original. I also have many original documents, dealer books/manuals and the original protecto-plate. This is a perfect weekend driver and drive in car show contender. I took it to many “cruise-in’s” this summer and people LOVE it! If someone is looking to do a frame-off restoration this would be the perfect truck. It would be very easy because it’s so solid and original. A restored 1969 K5 Blazer recently sold on BringATrailer for almost $80k.
