CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1968 Maserati Quattroporte 1 AM107Styled by Frua and built by Vignale Engine 4200cc., 5 gear manual transmission The car was manufactured in Nov. 5, 1968 by Maserati in Modena and then sent to Rome dealer Italy to the first buyer. Note the sticker of first dealer in Rome is still on the window. Then in 1974, it was imported into Canada via New York as proof there still is attached the 1974 DMV office sticker. I have complete history of ownership since it was imported into Canada. Complete history while the car was in Italy is available through the Maserati club. I have already confirmed with them with the VIN number that they have this car in their records. I have confirmation that the original color was silver with black leather interior.Car is located in Toronto Canada, inside my garage.Rare classic project garage find. The car was owned by same person for the last 35 years ( I have the document to show this ). It was a project car for him in 1985 which he started but never finished . So you can see from the pictures that the car was partially taken apart at that time to start some body and mechanical work but the work was suspended and the car was left in a garage for the rest of the years up to now. I bought this car from him with the intention of finishing the project but other priorities came up. I didn't start any work on this very rare car and I will sell in the condition as is. I noticed from my cursory inspection ( I am not a professional and not an expert in this car) that there are some visible missing parts like the 2 bumpers (which can easily be found online at few different sources) , one glass door driver side, pump brake, 2 wheel covers and there may be other parts missing. Note I have more pictures ready to send if you think they may help you. After doing some research on the internet, I found that all parts are still available to do a restoration. I did not do any special cleaning because I wanted to present the car transparently exactly as is.The Odometer of this car shows 80967 km which is about 50310 mile. As you can see in the picture, odometer is in KM. The VIN (CHASSIS) is: AM107 22** (last 2 numbers withheld) this car has complete matching numbers. The engine is not seized. By looking from the top inside, the carburetor looks clean. By pulling the gas linkage all 8 butterfly move freely. Car has Ontario Title in my name and with that I will give a Bill of Sale to consign to your shipper. One of the only approx. 700 made from 1963 to 1969. It was considered at that time the world's first luxury fastest sports sedan. Chosen by many personalities and celebrities of the times as a comfortable but fast car. A classic car very rare today. Always stored inside a garage by me and the previous owner. Please take your time to completely read the information provided and analyze - zooming each picture provided to see the condition and parts included.Included are spare tire, jack and many box of parts that were taken apart by the prior owner. Parts in the box include lots of trim for the door including the two wood parts of the front doors, some lights for the front and and back, glasses are all there except one for the driver side door which is missing. I have also 4 interior door panels also have the 4 exterior handle door and other parts. Windshield has a small puncture sign which I think is fixable. The interior leather upholstery is dry with some cuts and cracks. Top dash is in fair good condition. All gauges are there and apparently look good but not tested. The front wood dash is in fair good condition with minimal veins and pealing . All toggle switches are present in fair good condition. The gear lever change position. The original steering wheel is in fair good condition. The car comes with an ignition key . Regarding rust, yes there are some spots of rust around but I do not know how much exactly and I do not want rip off all the carpet to do an extensive check. Also because I am not a body shop expert or a mechanic, so my opinion will not be professional. I noticed by just moving a little bit of the carpet on the interior inner rock panel that there is some rust and I also noticed in the low back side corner of the rear panel that there is some rust there too and noticed some repair to the door has been done. The back trunk compartment seems to be okay.
